hurt vs. harm
We have to slice the melon. What is the difference between hurt and harm?
Harm could mean anything. If someone scratched your car, you could claim you were harmed. The entire world has become obsessed with 'harm-reduction'.
If someone hurts you, you'll know it. Hurt is emotional and physical. It changes your life, it doesn't just bother you.
Why do we have to define this? Because 'harm' has become a method of aggression. You can claim it anytime you want, as a way of getting back at someone. But were you hurt?
Can we see this subtle difference? Or is it subtle?
One could 'harm' you by stealing a flower out of your garden. Did that hurt you? Or are you just pissed off?
We have to stop the 'harm' economy of morality. Sometimes you lose a flower. Sometimes your car gets scratched. But being a baby, a five-foot-seven toddler, doesn't help you grow. It is extremely boring to live in this world where everyone is getting 'harmed' all the damn time. Grow up.
Did it hurt?
