Honestly YouTube is the one I use most and provides the most value to me personally. I know it's terrible that it's Google and all but I just can't give it up. I browse on peertube about once a week to try it but it's really not the same. Lemmy is the best free social media tho.
I think it'd help Peertube if it had an option to let you view YT frontend content, or if we told more YT creators to put up a Peertube instance/upload spot.
Especially the big ones would help a lot. Kurzgesagt, PBS Space Time & Eons, etc...
The problem is finding content, we really need to figure out personalised algorithms so you don't have to search for a needle in a hay stack to find even a single good video.

Lemmy because it doesn't try to extract as much money from us as possible or make us a product.

I technically agree. But youtube isn't much of a "social" medium.
I feel the same way. Peertube is great, but without a larger audience it doesn't seem to be evolving into something more
