Just remembered that this was a thing.
If you don’t know who Bill Joy is, AFAIK, basically a grey beard who made vi (predecessor to vim), contributed to early BSD and founded Sun microsystems.

IIRC this was an indirect response to the Unabomber's manifesto, and the rise of the milita movement/neo luddites in the 90s.
