Place to find trans/queer friends online that isn't invasive to privacy?

Hello! This may be very off topic, so feel free to remove! I wanna find more queer friends or even partners... and i dont really know where to look lol

Meeting queer people irl is not really possible for me rn and what would prolly be the go-to places to look for peeps online - reddit and discord, are borderline spyware

I suppose by its nature, this post already kinda acts as an advert, so hi my very real name is CocaineShark and I'm a (learning) ML and a linux n' art nerd, 19 they/she

The only services I use are lemmy, matrix and xmpp. I have similar issues with finding queer spaces. I know there is a genzedong matrix space (genzedong.xyz). But aside from that, I do not know of anything else that is active in matrix/xmpp that is both lgbtqa+ focused and not too liberal.

I tried looking around mastodon too, but that place seems ironically and oddly antisocial

I understand that the experience may differ and it could just be the instance(s) I been on, but people on there don't seem too interested in interacting with each other, as in commenting / resharing / whatevs

Ohhh. I assume this is generally the case with most social media. And for mastodon especially, it seems structured around individuals in a semi-competitive way which makes this more severe. It is why lemmy is the only social media I have ever actively used.

I only ever used reddit before now, so yea that was my only point of reference

Go to grindr and block literally everyone that makes any sexual advances towards you. They dont deserve an explanation. Just block them. They will act like babies anyway.

Talk to them via texts for a long long time and then you have an online friend you can meet irl if you ever want to.

Grindr is a horrible choice for privacy. You'd almost be better off on Discord.

Join one of the less useful communist parties that does a lot of national phone meetings such as PSL or PCUSA. You will very quickly have a large amount of friends that live across the country and many if not most will be lgbt.

I live in central europe, but thanks for the suggestion

it's not that ridiculous, if you talk about a product on Discord you will definitely see ads for it the same day for example
