Ooh some fisticuffs b/w tradies next door.

That's exciting.

I going for the one in hi viz (nothing against tradies, just the yelling). They're all very quiet now lol.

Stupid society. I feel like such a creep going next door and picking up the carton that got misdelivered. It's MINE, I promise!!!

Next time dress up like Sly Raccoon ๐Ÿ˜‚

Edit: okay I swear he was called Sly Raccoon but it's actually called Sly Cooper. I feel like this is some kind of Mandela effect shit or smth lol

5

I'm alternating between the oodie and a hoodie.

My Bermuda triangle of sweat (nose and upper lip) is very sweaty however lol

I sent another care package to my friend. They have atypical pneumonia, I havenโ€™t been able to see them and Iโ€™m a bit worried.

::: spoiler Sorting Melbcatโ€™s stuff

Iโ€™ve returned Melbcatโ€™s unused meds to the vet because someone else can use them. There was an entire box of medication in there that hadnโ€™t been opened yet and the vet specifically asked for the return of the second bag of fluids if they didnโ€™t get used. (There may be a shortage.) Iโ€™m still deciding whether to wash and donate the Aerokat.

Still feeling absolutely shattered about losing her and am sleeping holding her urn at night the same way I used to hold her. It was so sudden which makes it really hard to accept. She was such a part of my life. :::

::: spoiler Black cat has returned

The black cat is back and was sulky about my disappearance. I caved and started patting him again so Iโ€™m back on the disinfection treadmill and fretting how to deal with it. Also finding dead birds which I hope was the heat spell and not himโ€ฆ one was a magpie and I hear a kookaburra I donโ€™t want to get eaten. All of this would be so much easier if this cat didnโ€™t have ringworm.

There is one neighbour I might talk to about if anyone owns him. I did give the vet a found poster and am waiting on a cheapie chip scanner to see if he even has a microchip so it would be safer to take him to the vet. If he does have a chip and an owner I could possibly abduct him into the vet for their collection. The hissing though. I wish these vets were authorised to contact owners directly rather than send them to the pound with a collection deadline.

:::

Life is so fucking hard. Iโ€™m desperately trying to fix something in my godforsaken life and unshittify my surroundings by a tiny amount but everything feels so painful and pointless.

so hard to get past that feeling

I should be angry and tell them to go fuck themselves, ( in my mind ) I suppose,

and focus on the praise and kisses I get from mr seagoon

5

Nah. I've been getting pain on the left hand side of my chest since the hospital thing.

It gets worse when I'm exerting myself. Like going for a 90 Min walk.

They did a blood test and there's no damage which is good. Will see a cardiologist in the next couple of weeks.

Itโ€™s unfair that itโ€™s effortless to make mess and takes 10 times as long to clean it up. Plus needs extra motivation.

Worst movie ever watched?

For me: Rubber (2010), dir. Quentin Dupieux.

The premise: a rubber car tyre developed awareness and psychokinetic powers to kill people

The actual experience: Pretentious absurdist French shite.

Maybe some people like it, but I certainly did not. And yes, I will take any opportunity to shit on this film. I wasted 82 minutes of my life, twice, on this poop film

Two that I can think of. Moulin Rouge. Didn't get passed the first half hour. Don't know what it's about still to this day. And Mamma Mia. I did watch it all and then slapped myself.

Agree with you on Mama Mia. I think it was popular because of the abba songs, but take that away itโ€™s a nothing much special.

5

I liked Moulin Rouge but I watched it as a teen and had a massive crush on both Ewan, Nicole, and the guy that sings Roxanne ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hard agree on Mamma Mia, and I love ABBA ๐Ÿ˜‚

Movie I have sat all the way through. Most bad movies I will stop watching.

Survive!

I saw this at the movies with my frenemy

it was so bad I laughed, she was really upset I laughed

true, the story was serious, but a serious story is different to a well made movie, which this was not

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survive!_(film)

4

Never heard of it but I clicked the link to see what made it serious. How bad must it have been if it ended up a comedy ๐Ÿ˜‚

Objectively it has to be The Room, but what makes it so bad also makes it great.

4

Oh my lord do I love watching The Room, it's just so perfectly quotable!

"Anyway, how's your sex life?" ๐Ÿ˜‚ And that awkward scene where he fucks her dress? Or the sheets? So delightfully unhinged.

I actually read the book Greg wrote about how he met Tommy and how the movie got made, production etc, also delightfully unhinged. And the Disaster Artist movie was great too.

Can you tell I love The Room? ๐Ÿ‘€

Autumn in New York - Richard Gere and Winona Ryder

Shlockfest about a younger woman falling in love with an older man, and then she gets sick (or is sick) and dies near the end of the movie.

Ended a relationship over that piece of shit.

4
aussie.zone

I haven't seen that tbh, but the premise reminds me a little of City of Angels, with Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage. That film makes me very, very angry

::: spoiler Complaining

I may have treated this ringworm inadequately and spread it to the sheets and my ankle. It could be irritation from the perfumed antifungal laundry rinse but with my immune system Iโ€™m not taking any chances. Treatment will recommence and endless hot wash and dry laundry continues.

I may have to wash the last two blankets that might still smell of Melbcat and stink them up with scent.

I donโ€™t seem to be progressing at anything, the house doesnโ€™t look any cleaner, my wrist hurts from slamming my hand into the wall, I spend every moment of every day feeling hollow and like I want to cry. :::

Picked up Majora's Mask again after the save game surgery and was up super late dealing with the esoteric puzzles of the temples again

Different game but also up super late playing cult of the lamb. 20 mins turns into 2 hours super easily.

3

They're like different types of getting hooked. Modern games make the gameplay loop so fluid you can just keep going. In old games you're stuck looking for that one thing you need to do to get to progress the game

4

You'll love it, it's great! The best of both rogue-likes and town building/pop management.

I've downloaded Diablo II and have started leveling a necromancer. I called him Old Mate.

I still have a soft spot for DIII because that was my first Diablo game and I got the box as a gift from a Xmas casual job I was doing (bauble painting at Knox City lol). We we're right outside EB games, and my manager George bought it for me as my Xmas bonus. Fond memories ahhh

I'm loving DII, I've played before with my partner, but this is my solo run.

I've never played Majora's Mask, or many Zelda games at all really. I did play the DS one that was a train? Spirit train? And Breath of the Wild.

Do you emulate it?

I'm playing the recompiled version. People made a native PC version based on the Super Mario 64 source code leak from a few years back. It has improved framerate, widescreen support, and mods.

One great QOL improvement it comes with is your main masks and ocarina are mapped to the D-pad and you can skip the cutscene of putting the masks on. I think in the original they had to be part of your 3 item slots.

You can get it here, you still need a ROM file but they're easily acquirable if you need one:

https://github.com/Zelda64Recomp/Zelda64Recomp/releases/tag/v1.2.2

There's also recomp versions of Super Mario 64, Ocarina Of Time, Mariokart 64, and Banjo Kazooie that I know of. These recomp versions are the way to play these games now they exist.

3

Yes. Ship is OoC. I'm playing the MM version. They could be separate teams though, I think the Majora's Mask people want to do their own recomp and put it in the same program

3

Should put a wetsuit on or something, the air is basically all water now (I mean, molecularly it is, but it's more now lol)

Need to find cheaper SIMs for the three offspring. Currently on Optus through AussieBB at $25 / month each ๐Ÿ˜ฐ Loving AussieBB support but that's expensive for kids' phones. Anyone got any telco recommendations for / against for cheap mobile plans?

3
aussie.zone

Don't do what I did: get a job, upgrade phone to a pixel, lose job, be stuck with $100 monthly bills for 3 years.

I have a few months left on my contract, and am honestly highly considering doing what my partner did and just getting a "dumb" phone. My only gripe is Nokia isn't making dumb phones anymore, and my partner's Telstra one is a shitty piece of plastic.

I'm sorry I don't have any actual advice to give you lol

6

How long is a piece of string? I usually get 365 day plans with around 100gb of data for around $120. But I'm on wifi most places I go and tend to use about 20gb of mobile data annually. EDIT: I buy my phones outright, but you're asking about SIMs. If your kids go through the 100gb of data quickly, you can always buy another 365 sim, possibly with a larger data amount.

5

ALDI might have some good prepaid and/or plan SIMs. They use the Telstra network so coverage is better than some of the other cheap options.
