When one says "The US" it is often implicit that they mean "The American government".
I also said "pressuring Italy". Of course it means the Italian government, it's not like each single individual is being pressured
I would agree until you word it in such a way that implies an entire nation of people wants people to die. That's very different from a country "pressuring" another country.

Hyperinflation and devaluation of currency, shortages of everything including medicine, food and fuel, millions homeless and starving. While previous sanctions stunted their development, the US blockade is flirting with genocide in Cuba now.
There's no threshold for capitulation as far as I can see, so where does it end? Failed state condition, government collapse, mass starvation, mass death?
Define "okay". By my definition, they haven't been doing ok since the cold war as they've been bullied non-stop since then. It may be on the news again now, but it never stopped.
I gather they may mean more along the lines of, "Will they survive? Are people starving?" Etc. Here, now.
