::: spoiler TW Pet death Melbcat had too many health issues for treatment to give her a good quality of life. She was peacefully put to sleep while I held her. Thank you for all your well wishes and for loving her too. :::

18

Nothing else to add but we loved her too. Rest now little one. No more pain. And to go out being held in all that love you have for her is a gift. Now you rest and be gentle and scream into this void all you need. You did good Melba

10

I hope you're doing alright. You cared for her so much and gave her the best possible life a cat could ask for

9

Sending so much love and my condolences. You gave her the best life possible. Being there with her in the end would have been such a comfort.

8

Sending you so much gentle love, Melba. She was so deeply cared for by you, so incredibly loved. You made every decision with the best of intentions for her. Please take care of yourself, grieve but know you did everything out of love for her. Rest well, little one.

7

Iโ€™m so sorry, you gave her an incredible life. Just know weโ€™re all here to support you during this time.

6

Iโ€™m so so sorry. Itโ€™s devastating loosing a pet. It will be so hard, but you know that she was loved and cared for, the best life a cat could have. Sending hugs.

6

Oh no. You gave her the best life. She's at peace, hope you find some peace as well.

6

Oh Melba. I am so very sorry to hear that. Your love for her knew no bounds and she had a wonderful life with you as her servant.

I'm getting nuuuuuuuthing done today. I need to start doing things or today is going to go so so so slowly. Strange how doing nothing at work makes time crawl, doing nothing at home makes time fly.

Maybe a coffee first.

I've had three coffees already, so can't use that as an excuse to procrastinate any more. Time to bring in the washing then start hauling mulch.

5

I've drastically reduced my intake, so three coffees would have me a jittering mess on the floor. Just the one I had lit a fire under my bum!

::: spoiler Mulching is done! :::

I have a couple of mounds at the back to spread out once the pumpkin is out of that patch of garden. It turned out to be a pretty good amount (2m^2^) and covered the garden and a narrow path along the back fence behind the vegie garden.

Cleaning up the driveway was a bit tiring, as leaves from the mulch blew around everywhere and I had some bonus sand that was in the truck from it's last delivery. I had to sweep the whole lot down, and ended up doing the entrance area and sweeping down the walls which had a lot of dust and cobwebs too.

7

Thanks. It's amazing how much some of the plants have grown since I put them in. Its only been about 4 1/2 months since they were planted and they all started as small tubestock.

3

1 more day. Urgh.

It's been a god send having a blocked ear the last few days because there's overnight construction near my house this week.

All the advantages of living in bum fuck nowhere (peace and quiet) evaporated 4 months ago.

7

Brains are stupid.

"You have so much to do! Better do task one! Or two! Maybe three! What about four?

...

...

...

Or how about you ignore them all and do a hair mask for the first time in, like, 5 years. Go on. That'll make all of your problems vanish. And by vanish I mean continue to stack up."

Goddamn my hair better feel amazing tomorrow.

Fuck this white eyebrow shit. I refuse to morph into John Howard.

Lol, the only place I get greys. I had to stop plucking them, so now they're dyed!

I have dye, but there is also a texture and length difference issue. The plucking shall continue! To a certain point....

Next time you're at the hairdresser ask them to trim them. They do it with the clippers.

At my my barber shop (all Iraqis and Lebanese) when I get my bread trimmed I always forget about the eyebrows.

Thankfully the boys always remind me. I asked one if they're really bushy, his answer 'Brother, I'm Arab, if I tell you it's hairy...believe me'

Bless them

My husband wasn't aware that he needed his trimmed until the hairdresser said to him once "you want eyebrows done too?" Now he's addicted.

I do this myself. Once or twice I've ended up with no eyebrows, which isn't the best look for me.

With you on that. Saved a fortune.

Trick for me is have a few glasses of wine before cutting.. all about the unique cut. Looks great until I wake up the next day.

5

$500 haircuts is unsustainable!

Sometimes there is drunken fringe wonkiness, just use a mussy style until it sorts itself out

trim, not pluck, and you can get wax pencils to tame them

mine are so blonde/white you can't see my eyebrows , I have to pencil and use mascara

This probably won't work, but I can't make it worse, so...

5

If it's already broken, you're learning how they work. And you can put the battery in the correct bin at the tip.

4

Tried veg gyoza and calamari (shitty store bought) in the airfryer tonight.

Verdict:

I think the gyoza need to be done normally (pan fry -> steam -> bit more pan fry) but was okay, the calamari worked very well. 200c for 8-10mins from frozen.

5

It's hot work outside today. It's apparently 20 degrees and 'feels like' 16, but it feels more like 26 when shovelling. I think lots of breaks to cool down is the order of the day.

so I'm not supposed to take anti histamines or vitamins until my allergy appt next week

my lips and tongue are now on fire , not even sure what it is, I had a soy milk coffee and home made olive bread with nuttelex for morning tea

sulphites on olives perhaps, the wheat bread itself?

hopefully the testing can tell me, in the meantime I am reading labels carefully

Wow! Is anything a brand you don't normally use? That sounds like an awful reaction, hope it's subsided by now.

the beach was lovely this evening, a warm breeze made it not too cool
