Starship/superheavy is amazing technology that I’ve been excited to follow.

But it doesn’t make any sense in today’s space market. If Falcon already carries 80% of the worlds launches, based on mass to orbit, what use is something designed for 10x that?

It only makes sense along with increasing the space market 10x, and the more the better. It would never get off the ground without the guaranteed Starlink launches, the promise of more than all other satellites combined, but that’s not enough to justify the program. A continuous presence somewhere beyond earth orbit is practically required, to expand the space market enough

Does it really matter whether it’s a lunar base or a mars base? Either way is made possible by Starship, but also either way is necessary for the ambitions of the Starship program
