Protesting illegally*

Tell it like it actually is

It's a crackdown on protesting, because Israel can't be criticised

Why is the president of a foreign genocidal regime invited to Australia to support the families of murdered Australians? What purpose does that solve?

He's not a Jewish religious leader. He's the political head of state of a country.

I got you fam,

I'm sure in 6 months time when I see you again I will be thoroughly confused by the whole tag.

Also for tags I use connect and when you go into a user's profile you can tag them with whatever

For people that get triggered by a single comment in the past so they put a little personal mark next to your name so they can be forever triggered when they see you again

Thanks for rehosting the video. Cool add-on, always good to see people explaining how to do this. (yt-dlp, and friendlier tools using it under the hood, is also useful for all kinds of websites)

That police action is absolutely egregious. I've seen plenty of police violence and other abuse, but this is an example that they had to know was offensive and unnecessary. Secularism and a general freedom of religion are widely-accepted Australian national values. And to see PAG organisers among those pushed away while praying just makes it even clearer.

It's moments like this which clarify just how alienated, or simply uncaring, these officers are. At some point, they will each choose between standing with Australians or standing with governments to keep their job.

So apparently the dev included some 'companion app' which I vaguely remember installing once. I'm not sure. I don't use it often and only enabled it after seeing your comment. Some people have had issues with the app or with waterrmarks which I've never encountered. I also have no idea if this 'companion app' is open source or what it even does. So yeah, technically I warned you all.

The police making unreasonable demands does not justify the use of violence to enforce those demands.

Correct, the decent into fascism is already entrenched. I hate all religions, but these guys weren't doing anything wrong, they weren't hassling anyone. Anyone who thinks these laws couldn't be used against them eventually, is either filthy rich, stupid or both. This kind of action by police just increases the chances of terror attacks, both by victimising innocent people and emboldening hateful people, who see this as justification for their hatred.

When I was seeing the posts like this happening in America/Minnesota, I think to myself, "what would I do? Would I risk my record/job to stand up for my neighbour?

I'm not in Sydney, and I don't think this will happen in The Outback, but its something to think about...

Fuck

I have an ex-coworker. Devout Muslim. Amazingly hard worker. (We worked in fast food. Late to night shift. Dinner rush. I remember chatting to him, and he didn't eat during his meal break because of Ramadan. Boss was nice enough to give him a break at the right time to let him eat). I would 100% stake my reputation to help him because I know his name and personality

But when it came to the under 16s social media ban, I will be 100% honest, I didn't care. I'm over 16. Everyone I know is over 16. I didn't help fight for the under 16s.

Now its passed, and I see a couple twitch channels gone, I wished I could have done something...

TL;DR, I like to think I will be the hero, but I'm 110% a coward...

I hope I can grow a spine and learn my lesson soon.

I’t makes me really happy to see Aussies banding together and protesting, it’s always seemed to me that our chill attitude was easy to take advantage of.

As much as I feel any and all prayer is meant to be entirely between you and your personally-chosen creator, and as such should never be done as a public spectacle (as per Matthew 6, 5-8),

This.
Is.
F**king.
Disgusting.

ACAB. They’re the hand of fascism and authoritarianism and should be treated as such: record, document, and prepare the evidence for your country’s own Nuremberg trials. Never give any of these bastards an inch of space.
