Can we replace the AI art on the error page?
Hi there.
Noticed with the recent error from the PieFed update that the error message comes with AI art.
I'm aware it's quicker and cheaper, but a fair portion of people on the fediverse are very staunchly against AI art. I feel it would bring more personality to the community if these were replaced with art by Canadian artists on the fediverse.
I don't know of a whole lot off hand, but one who does come to mind is Johann Sebastian Staedtler on mastodon.art. I'm sure others here know of other people who'd be worth collaborating with as well. Might even be fun in the long term to do something like a randomised rotation of art from different artists each time the page is refreshed.
Totally! We want to replace them with user created / chosen ones eventually, we just haven't had time yet to organize that. Another one is on the 404 page on our site: https://fedecan.ca/page-that-doesn't-exist
Maybe instead of some big contest, we can set up a page with information on how to submit art (with our email address, a required subject, etc.) and then people can submit art to it. Having it rotate would be harder, but not impossible.
