Finger protector

I heard that you can make a finger protector in leather to use when sewing and that they work really great, so of course I had to try it. They DO work great.

I used a holepuncher intended for fabric to create the holes that i sewed in, with thin-ish yarn.

It's not super pretty, but it works!

Nice little project, congrats! What I love with this kind of project is that they're easy and it doesn't have to look perfect in order to work just fine. Plus it doesn't require a lot of leather so it's easy to make a new one later down the way, when you're more comfortable with your skills, just to appreciate the progress you've made.

Have you ever tried saddle stitch ? It would be a good start if you want to keep crafting!

Thank you! it's perfect for scraps.

I have not made proper saddle stitch, but I kind of did it for the cardholder I've made (I'll show it another day). But instead I sewed one side first and then I went back to sew the other side with the same thread. So the end result should be a saddle stitch?

Not sure this is saddle stitch since the thread seems to go around the edges. Looking forward to checking out your cardholder!

No, this is not saddle stitch, sorry I was a bit unclear :) It's some sort or cross stitch
