A Google internal document reveals that Chromebooks train children in schools to turn them into loyal customers

cross-posted from: https://lemdro.id/post/35343011

Internal Google documents, revealed in a recent child safety lawsuit, show the company viewed Chromebooks and its education tools as a way to onboard kids early creating "brand trust and loyalty over their lifetime."

A 2020 presentation described schools as a pipeline for future users.

Google says the documents mischaracterize its work, which prioritizes helping students and teachers with strong privacy safeguards in school accounts.

Yes, this has been very obvious. It's also why iPhones are branded as a teen status symbol, and why all the tech companies are racing to set up free internet infrastructure and give away laptops and phones in developing countries. It's also why almost all construction/farming equipment companies sell tiny/toy versions of their products for toddlers/children. Same with fast food restaurants and their toys for children. The list goes on and on.

Same thing Apple did back in 80's. Almost every computer lab was Apple II machines.

the obvious has been proven, now the question will there be any meaningful punishment? probably no also microsoft has been doing the same shit in brazil except laptops are too expensive so they just provide the software for the computer labs (office suite, windows etc) and teams, honestly teams is indeed as bad as they say it is, horrible piece of shit comically confusing bloated and heavy

Yeah, same how it worked with Microsoft Office for decades before.
