:::spoiler Removed Post [If you watch videos with XYZ in them, you are a disgusting human being]

Porn star with serious brain injury, for those who don’t know.

She’s routinely forced to delete things from her social media by her “manager,” and she’s clearly not in a state where she can consent to doing porn.

The industry is absolutely fucked.

How is that trolling or uncivil?

It is not good that a woman with brain damage is being pressured to make porn, and that her videos are posted on mainstream porn sites, including lemmy instances.

I’ve noticed a pattern that lemmings tend to get very defensive when exploitation in the porn industry is brought up. I’m not sure how someone could jerk off to literal rape on rape in this case, but I guess that’s an “unpopular opinion.”

You are a disgusting human being

Even though you frame it as a straw man, its still being uncivil. If you disagree with me you are a disgusting human being.....

You don’t think watching videos of rape makes someone disgusting? Is this a “two sides” issue?

So many straight men can’t cope with the fact that half the shit you get off to is women being exploited and abused.

Your last message still breaks the community rules.

  1. It's uncivil, your putting words into other people's mouths they didn't say.
  2. It's trolling, you are using inflammatory language to get emotional responses rather then have a civil discussion.

Uh, no, neither point you just made is true.

I’m sorry you are too insecure about the stuff you jerk off to to be rational about this. If you feel uncomfortable, imagine how uncomfortable she is.

Another swing and a miss: uncivil and trolling again.

2

How would you express it civilly? Why don’t you reword the point in whatever way you feel?

I’m just constantly amazed at how sensitive straight men get about their porn consumption. Can’t call “rape,” “rape” - but then that goes all the way back to Debbie Does Dallas huh?

Porn topics should be marked NSFW or go into porn communities.

Discussing porn at all?

Well shit, someone better do something about Mickey7 on c/shitpost then

7
lemmy.world

It's not a "porn" topic, it's a discussion surrounding someone. What does that even mean? If I wanted to talk about my disagreement with the porn industry, how would that be inappropriate or NSFW? 🤔

Probably as that kind of conversation is not suitable for work. Unless you work in the porn industry.

If people browse at work, they won't want nsfw topics in their feed. Or if they have kids etc. Just because it's not graphic or imagery doesn't mean it's not something people may want to filter for whatever reason.

You can have an adult conversation about pornography and adult topics without it being graphic, while it's still unsuitable for work.

How? My guy, these are words on e-paper, what are you saying? ITS NOT ABOUT PORN, it's about morality or life or dignity or whatever and even if it were, so what? I cannot have a critical view on the porn industry at work? This is like the tamest, least combative or inflammatory convo I'd have at work IRL, I was just yapping about the difference between Western and Islamic supremacy to my boss lady before clocking out, lol. Who's being triggered by gore or fired because titties are on the screen, the original point of all this NSFW censoring? You know how close someone has to be to my phone to make up what words are here? Do you just self censor when there's nothing immoral going on? What exactly makes the conversation, words only, NSFW? Not suitable for work maybe because I'm using the time I'm getting paid to argue with strangers online but that goes for any topic, lol.

See, this is what happens when you have no clear ideology nor stances but try to have a conversation about it, you get confused and say nonsense.

People don't just browse in phones. They browse on computers. Colleagues come over to their work area to talk with them and often see what's on the screen.

I'm not prudish. I'm fine with adult content in the privacy of my own home. It's not suitable at work which should remain professional. I also wouldn't want my kids seeing porn when they are too young to understand.

You seem to be having an imaginary argument and don't understand what I, or other users are saying so I'll leave it here..

This is not about being a prude, these are words on paper arguing about ethics or behaviour, being a prude or not has nothing to do with that. And no one is watching porn. You're misunderstanding what happened in OP and what he's complaining about. He posted words about something, not porn, and it was taken down. I saw this at work and I had no issues with it, again, because it was just words.

On your phone, which is seminprovate. Words discussing porn on a computer screen at work would be.inappropriate. it's the point of the tag. This thread is someone suggesting it should be tagged nsfw and maybe that's why it was removed. I'm inclined to agree, bit that may or may not be the reason.

2

I don't understand how, really, it's an intellectual conversation, an exploration of ideas. You could discuss Mein Kampf and it wouldn't be NSFW, right? Unless you're in Germany, idk, where it's not safe to discuss anywhere, lol... Can you explain what makes it inappropriate for the workplace or anywhere, and what that word means to you? What's the point in the NSFW tag, what makes things safe or not safe for work ? All you've said was "these words are NSFW because they're inappropriate". You're going around in circles.

Shouldn’t that standard extend to all the stupid jokes about porn that routinely end up everywhere?

Is it only criticism of porn that is the problem?

0

I posted again, marked as NSFW. That mod comment says nothing about taking it down because of its NSFW status, but let’s see if that was the actual reason lol

-2

It is very Reddit. No one wants to feel guilty that half the shit they see on brazzers or Pornhub is someone too fucked up to consent.

-1

I support your claim. Sorry for the injustice, perhaps it was an honest mistake by someone with poor reading skills, idk.
