Which robot vacuum to buy?

Are there even any? I only know of Bosch, but it's basically just a rebranded Ecovacs.

Ideally it has home assistant integration

Edit: After a quick research I came up with this:

  • Vorwerk: Way too expensive. Premium price for a very basic device
  • Kärcher seems like a solid choice
  • Dyson is expensive and the performance does not quite seem to match the price
  • Philips, Electrolux and Miele also offer vacuum robots, but I don't know how good they are, yet
  • There's also Samsung, which is not european, of course, but at least not chinese or american

But a limited one. You do the flashing once.

When it is freed from it's manufacturer this way, there is usually no need anymore for connecting it to the internet, and therefore you may become rather lazy with updates.

I tried the Bosch. It's a rebranded Ecovacs with a new app that doesn't work.
I sent it back, couldn't even get it running because of the shitty app.

I'm stunned at how bad Bosch is at making consumer software. I like their tools, but I won't buy another one where I rely on an app.

Also with their tools. Bosch green are cheap, Chinese tools comparable to other cheap brands. Bosch blue are the higher quality things.

Their washing machines and dryers are also now plastic welded and non-repairable.

I just found the one from Vorwerk, but my man is that thing expensive

Dyson was one of the arch brexiters. So I think crossing anything Dyson off the list for this community is probably appropriate.

None, but if you want to try one I can sell you cheap my Navon vacuum and mop (from spar). I don't use it because it's faster to do it myself than setting it up.

Stay away from Schbot. Estonian company, but rebrands cheap alibaba crap at up to 10x the price.

I dont reccomend karsher, that which was supposed to be anither Dyson. I have one, and my parents have cheap Chinese one, i dont see difference tbh

Ive looked at endless tests and reviews but however you turn it, the european ones are simply underperforming and pricier.

I would go with a valetudo supported one now (sadly i did not) and just flash it to be free of the shitty software.

@marius
Karcher Robot Vacuum, does not made in Germany, but in China. According my understand their mobile apps obey European laws.

Yeah, but this sub is called buyeuropean, not boycottUSA.
