I'd put that down to atrophied reading skills. Actual illiteracy is usually a sign that someone never learned, there's also functional illiteracy wherein someone can technically read and write but they aren't interacting with it beyond parroting the words.

For basically as long as they've been around, I've mostly dismissed the Murphys as "too Boston" (which, in this sense, means dickish Boston Irish). But these last few years have really shown me I was just an idiot and they are exactly the kind of Boston Irish I want around.
Saw these guys at Louder than Life in 2024. It was muddy as fuck because it basically monsooned the day before, and was still drizzling on and off that day. I was soaked to the bone, covered in mud up to my thighs, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Definitely one of the funnest, most high energy performances of the whole weekend.

The thing is, the military is America's largest wellfare program. Reducing or cutting the military could directly lead to a localized demand-side recession in areas with large numbers of military recruits and/or contractors
