Most files fall into two categories anyway. How about we upgrade them too?

  • EMXML: Even More Extensible Markup Language: Now with binary blobs! Embed media with all 8 bits per byte!
  • ZIPminusPK: ZIP But Every File is 2 Bytes Smaller By Omitting Phil Katz's Signature

Next gen gif should add another sequence of letters that can be argued about how it should be pronounced.

See, that's why I'm saying it's gotta be "Chunky Gif." .cyg.

Is the C a /s/ or a /k/? Or is it /tʃ/, like in "cello," to match with "chunky?" Is the Y an /ɪ/, an /aɪ/, or an /i/? Is the G a /dʒ/ or a /ɡ/? Does the fact that it's a pun on the peanut butter brand legitimize the /dʒ/ pronunciation, or does linguistic precedent show it's obviously pronounced /sɪɡ/ like cygnus?

::: spoiler The truth? The C is silent, like in "indict." The Y is a schwa, like in "pyjamas." And the G is pronounced /ɣ/, like the proper Dutch pronunciation of "van Gogh." The filetype is thus pronounced, approximately, "Uchgh" - Which you may recognize better as the sound you make when you get chunky JIF peanut butter stuck in the back of your throat. :::

DocGPT. Copilot summarizes your document into a slightly smaller, not human readable form and saves that to OneDrive. To open the document, Copilot expands it back to almost the same words and numbers, with a 1% chance of deleting a random adjacent file.

Imgur has GIFV which is technically just WebM or MP4 treated as an animated image, but that could be GIF supreme
