Huh! Who would've thunk that more grass-roots approach, giving the young people attention and providing possibilities and options would lower crime rates?
I keep measuring today to the late 90s, and despite all the racism, grime, crime and murder back then - it definitely felt like there was more opportunity then rather than now for young people
What are you, some kind of wokist? What's it going to be next? Make housing affordable?
You can't convince people, who use anecdotes as "statistics".
Having lived in London now for ~8 years... I can confirm that the city does feel much safer in the past year or so. ASB in the areas I frequent dropped considerably, phone snatching has dropped below pre-COVID levels, and even gang-related activities seem to have quieted down a bit.
Yes, of course, a city of 10+ million will never be completely crime-free, but overall I'd say London is healing.
