Same. I love the original FF7, I've got great memories of having to swap CDs in the Playstation to go to the next acts. I wouldn't want a 1:1 remake of that game because the end result will ALWAYS leave fans disappointed. I've enjoyed the remakes and don't mind the changes.
Good, they somehow managed to fuck up VII in the process of making it a trilogy cash grab. But they waited till after the first game released to make the egregious changes to get that first round of millions, so sales of the second abomination were terrible in comparison.
Why just remake the game when they can make it a trilogy and get 3x as much money from people? And instead of just giving people the remake they wanted and were promised, you make pointless changes and fuck it up in the process.
It's classic modern AAA studios and publishers. Not sure why anyone thought SQUARE (out of any company) would be immune from that.
Honestly unless it’s a 1:1 remake in something like the 2.5D style I’m not interested. There’s something about the original that gets mangled when you mess with the story like 7 remake did.
i like the ff7 remake because the original always felt a bit janky to me, probably growing pains moving to playstation.
if they do remake ff6 i would hope its hd2d. ive been really enjoing the dragonquest remakes.

I certainly understand his point of view, and hope someone who could do justice to such a remake will.
