The Joker movie DC didn't want you to see will start streaming for free this month
The People's Joker, after a contentions debut at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival, is about to reach its widest audience yet.
Having seen this movie, it is:
* A queer coming-of-age-movie that tells a deeply personal and emotional story
* A love letter to the Batman mythos
* A torchbearer for Tim and Eric type humor
That description alone should tell you if it is worth watching for you.

Trailer was an interesting watch though, but gonna have to pass up on 1+ hours of that
It’s a very well-made and emotional film, but I do think you can watch the trailer and accurately gauge your likely tolerance level for it.
So did DC allow it or is it not enough ip infringing or what?
It's billed as a satire. That's pretty much a free ride most of the time
I think it’s pretty transparently a trademark violation and it’s wild it got a relatively wide commercial release. I feel like WB saw that the movie was a deeply personal movie about a marginalized group, with limited commercial potential and zero viability as a “franchise,” and did the math that continuing to fight it could really only make them look like assholes.
