Anyone else having side effects while using GLP-1 prescription drugs?
In November my doc put me on Jardience to help control my diabetes, and it was working very well. I was able to cut my insulin usage in half scale-wise, but also my urge to snack was way down further reducing my need for insulin. On December 23rd I had a complete reversal... of my digestive tract. I was throwing up and couldn't even hold down water. This persisted for about 5 days, until I was able to tolerate half a slice of peanut butter toast and a few sips of coffee. My gf's sister had had a similarly bad reaction to Ozempic earlier this year and her boyfriend recently ended up in the hospital with a ruptured ulcer in his stomach (also on Ozempic).
First and foremost, talk to your doctor ASAP if you haven't already.
Personally, I'm on Mounjaro and I get diarrhea periodically. I get it more frequently when my dosage goes up, so when I get to the point where I don't have it anymore, I take it as a sign that I may need to have my doc up the dosage again.
I had similar reactions to GLP-1s (for diabetes). If the symptoms don't go away within a few weeks, you may want to talk to your endocrinologist about the issue. Sometimes, just increasing or lowering the dose can help. For me, Ozempic was the worst. I am now on Mounjaro, and no longer have any problems. Everyone is different, though.
Purely anecdotal but Mike Israetel had some arguments for waaaay lower doses than what is prescribed. Talk to your doctor of course. I think this might be be the video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=matVhd7k25w
Hi, just wanted to clarify in case I read this wrong but Jardiance (empagliflozin) is a SGLT2 inhibitor, not a GLP-1. Ozempic (semaglutide) is a GLP-1.
