Similarly eating at work, but my workplace provides a hot meal (though not necessarily time to eat it while it's still hot).

Oliebollen, and probably too many :)

Last year I had to stand in line for up to two hours to get a fresh batch on the 31st. Even appeared on local tv because of the huge line.

Not sure where and when I’m going to get this year’s batch, but I definitely don’t want to have a repeat of last year.

We're hosting some friends so I spent all day Saturday making tamales!

I’m not sure about New Year’s Eve, but New Year’s Day is a big day for tradition with my wife. We always have pork, greens, and black eyed peas every New Year’s Day. It’s some sort of old tradition.

(When I made this post with voice dictation, it capitalized Black Eyed Peas, so I guess it thought that I was going to have Fergie and the boys over. 🤔)

I'm suppose to make hoppin john on new years eve to eat on new years day but I may or may not remember. I think nothing for us watching the ball drop though. Maybe popcorn.

My wife and I will have a quiet dinner together at home. At some point we started having lobster tail for New Years, and it's become kind of a tradition.

We have crab cakes, some snacks you heat in the oven (jalapeno poppers and bean empanadas), tinned fish like sardines and similar, and cheese and crackers. And a "champagne" the Cava Raventos Blanc Blanc de blancs which is the best bubbly white wine I have ever had and not even expensive.

New Year's Day is black eyed peas, collard greens, and potatoes. Yum.

Ordering pizza and playing a game with my wife called "can we stay awake until midnight?" I won last year, it's about 50/50 this year.

2

The traditional new year's food of the place I grew up is pork roast and sour kraut cooked in a crock pot for about 8 hours, with mashed potatoes.
