I guess a more modern final panel would probably be the other two geese accidentally eating turds with giant smiles on their beaks while the one in the middle cries
I must confess that I posted this partly as an experiment. I genuinely found the comic funny, but when I reread it, I didn't understand why, it's actually quite bland and I wanted to see how others reacted.

It's 100% because of the goose face on the last panel. It's fantastic.

It's fine, he didn't end it with how much he hates his goose wife so it's hardly boomer humor
Or about how kids can't live without their phones.
