Challenge 1: Spear Mayhem

Defeat five mobs with a spear in Survival mode, Bedrock Edition.

Hold up, does this mean we can’t participate in the first challenge if we only have Java?

It doesn't matter, I did the copper Cape challenges in bedrock and never got the cape, went through support, even providing dated screenshots and they replied with essentially "better luck next time" and instantly closed the ticket.

Yup, been that way for a while unfortunately. Especially annoying for Linux and MacOS users who can't just launch Bedrock on their computers. Trying to complete challenges on a touchscreen is super annoying.

does Wine work for Bedrock?

Edit:
No but Waydroid does.
Also, given how Education Edition is a version of Bedrock, and it supports Mac, Bedrock not supporting Mac is a decision by M$.

There's an unofficial version of Bedrock for Linux that runs "natively" using the Android x86 version of the game. Unfortunately it currently does not support Mounts of Mayhem. https://flathub.org/en/apps/io.mrarm.mcpelauncher

Wine didn't work for Bedrock in the past because of how it was packaged on Windows. However, they recently switched the package type to something that Wine might support? Haven't tested or personally or see anyone else do it.

Anyone who had purchased either before the better together change can download and install both. However if you don't have windows, you can't run bedrock. So me for instance.

On Linux you can run the Android bedrock version through Minecraft Bedrock Launcher

For that you must have the android version of bedrock which is a separate purchase via the play store. I'm not willing to do that.
