When you envision him as a solipsist, every single decision makes sense. Well that plus a malignant narcissist who squandered a fortune and made a lot of very shady 'friends' along the way.

Trump would have made more money if he just put his inheritance into an index fund, IIRC. Of course all the bribes and frivolous lawsuits companies "settled" may make that no longer a true statement.

8

with his grifts of maga supporters like crypto and now his shady deals with foreign dignitaries he is doing better. dumb people and selling out our country makes a lot of money.

5

Yah, it’s like how he conflates himself with America when he makes fascist statements such as ‘this will destroy America.’

11
piefed.zip

It's the same "people" who always seem to be "saying" what he's thinking at any given moment.

29

Hmmmmmm, has anyone ever explored the idea that trump has skitzophrenia? Maybe he really does think large amounts of people are saying things.

Of coarse, that doesn't make it any better. That just means the president has mental illness, and is the guy in charge of the military and nukes. Which feels even worse than if he were just a narcisist.

6

If he was concerned about harming others, this would be the first time in his life. So yes he just admitted that he's in the files and he will be harmed if they're released.

sh.itjust.works

No, there are absolutely other very important wealthy people who are tied to Epstein. I saw a picture of Bezos and Eric Schmidt with Maxwell that supposedly was dated 2018.

There are going to be very important people who used Epstein and not all will be people you dislike.

3

Yeah, seriously. Going to have to try a lot harder than those two examples 😁

1
lemmy.world

Shrug. Oh well?

If that stuff comes to light, (normal) people might be disappointed in some instances, but I doubt they would have rather it did not come out and those people left unpunished.

Of course, sick fuckers like Donvict and people that worship the elite because of Worthington's Law might feel differently.

1

My point was it isn't just Trump and don't be surprised if a societal sacred cow akin to a Mr Rodgers ends up on the list as well.

2
lemmy.world

The people who will be hurt by the release of the Epstein files are people we need to hurt.

lemmy.dbzer0.com

Exactly, it's the whole point. I don't care who is there, if they were involved they need to be punished.

54

It's hilarious all the conservatives are like, "but Bill Clinton is in them too!" As if we give a flying fuck if that whole family gets destroyed from the files.

19

Let's be honest, there's exactly one person Trump cares about protecting.

20

He might be talking about folks who were around Epstein but never had involvement with kids. Personally, Im willing to make everyone publicly explain their ties to that guy.

lol ... sounds a lot like the evangelical preacher with the million dollar private jet who asked his parishers to give more money to buy a second jet because it would save more people

(I remembered this story from a few years ago and thought it was 'a second jet' ... I was wrong ... the preacher was asking for donations to buy his FOURTH JET!!!)

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44305873

Trump isn't running a country .... he's an evangelical preacher leading a ministry called the United States

44

Who the hell on Earth needs 4 jets?

21

Ummmm........a small military? Maybe he wanted to kick it old school, and go back on 1700s era holy cruisades, but with modern firepower!

15

The church does. They need 1 so their staff can fly to other churches to spread the word. The other three are loaned out to a jet rental company that a shell company owned by the pastor's shell company owns so he can appear to be making nothing off the church directly.

2
MagicShelreply
lemmy.zip

It does raise a question of just how many jets a single person needs. I, myself, could make do with as few as two, but I have a large family. I'm sure someone who lived a more frugal lifestyle might struggle by with only one? But I don't see anyone needing more than three. It's just so hard to find places to park them all...

16
MagicShelreply
lemmy.zip

To whom? People without jets? That sounds like a really niche market...

2

Exactly!

If releasing a list of people who raped children would hurt those people, then I say too fucking bad maybe they need to be hurt a little bit.

17
lemmy.ca

If by 'people' we mean rich men who have no regard for other people and feel they are outside the law, then yes, people. Better to call them what they are rich criminal men. Those criminals are the ones they are afraid of hurting not the actual victims of their abuse.

There is only one people Trump cares about, you do the math

10

1>278,000,000. Person woman man camera tv. Nobel peace prize. Obama. Biden. Ivanka.

4

The group you are ascribing this to is too broad. There are people with extreme ASPD who just simply aren't looking to fuck kids. The guys you are talking about are better described as rich people who want to fuck kids.

1
lemmy.zip

Now you have to tell me what a Jewish Space Laser card would look like.

5

That’s the point. Protect the victims. Anyone else, prison. But yeah, that’s the whole point of releasing them. To hurt those that are involved in a human trafficking and pedophile ring.

30

So hurting young women is okay, but hurting offender is not. Got it. Get F’d.

27

Isn't this actually the argument they are making to release Maxwell from prison? That the evidence proves her so guilty that she could not possibly have a fair trial.

25

That's the whole point, isn't it? Exposing criminals and charging them will hurt them in all sorts of ways. Personal responsibility suggests that if you made your own bed then you lie in it. If you get a bunch of "powerful" cohorts doing the same thing it becomes a criminal conspiracy cabal with certain protections built in. I guess they find themselves "tween" a rock and a hard place.

21
sh.itjust.works

The people in those files hurt children. Now I know Trump and the GOP don't actually care about children or even really pretend to, but still.

20

Some did and others just knew the guy. Im perfectly willing to have everyone explain why they knew the guy in a courtroom.

2

Well, some of them very much pretend to care about children with the bullshit Qanon stuff. But that's only because they thought they'd be locking up Democrats.

2
lemmy.world

Hey Donny, You fat shitcunt ! THOSE are the people we WANT hurt, you pedophile hitlerpig. And we know YOU are one of them, you little dick rapist!

19
lemmy.world

Hey, I appreciate the sentiment, but some years ago I made an active effort to remove misogynist vocabulary from my swearword vocabulary (e.g. bitch, cunt) - maybe that's something you could see yourself doing as well?

3

Can't see that happening, sorry. This is one of those times and people where swearing isn't even enough, Fat ass Donny deserves every possible vilification that can be sent his way, and a lot more besides. Language isn't enough to express the contempt and loathing I feel for that obese, bloviated, orange tub of rancid lard, but I try anyway since he's not close enough for me to spit upon. And, swearing isn't misogynistic. It's fucking swearing, because normal vocabulary won't do. It also has the benefit that Donny 2 Inches doesn't understand words greater than 4 letters in length. Maybe you could do something about your over active sensibilities, and save the preaching for church?

MTG is smarter than we've been giving her credit for.

She bailed out of Congress just after her pension kicked in, and before the midterms.

She'll be a talking head/pundit, sitting on the sidelines as the GOP goes down in flames, and then run in 2028 as the MAGats new hero.

19

It’s basic math. So, yeah she is able to do basic times tables and that’s way more than I thought she could do

13

Yeah… I’ll agree with that. Haha. She was so dumb. Like a yappy dog.

It just got too toxic when she turned on Trump. Pension was coincidence that it was only a couple months away so announce to take the heat off and stick around doing nothing.

8

Other people already pointed out that she never received a credible threat from Antifa or the LGBTQ+ community. The second she made a move against Trump she saw her life was in danger.

12

Yes, that's kind of a big part of it. Wealthy elites did bad things and we want them to hurt because we all hurt and they're getting away with doing bad things.

This is not rocket science...

19
sh.itjust.works

You know, it was just boys being boys. They've got their whole futures ahead of them!

18

Everyone assumes he means himself, but I think this is more of a veiled threat to her safety.

16

If it wasn't so upsetting it would be funny that the people motivated by fury over elite pedophiles elected the biggest most elite pedophile to be their president.

12
lemmy.dbzer0.com

Let's just do away with law and courts and such. Releasing evidence would incriminate people and prove they are guilty.

Where's the offramp for this timeline?

4
lemmy.world

Where’s the offramp for this timeline?

May I reccomend you watch the movie Odiocracy.

2

RELEASING the Epstein files will hurt Children! Rape Victims! Poor People! Non Rapists! People of some Sort!

2

I think Trump meant there are a lot of everyday people in the files, you know firemen, teachers, engineers , those sort of people and since he's charged with protecting his people he just wants to... I'm sorry there's just no way to justify NOT hurting the pedophiles. The victims have already come out in favor of this so I don't see that argument holding water.
