The Supernote A5X2 has a great box

This probably sounds like a joke, but I just wanted to mention how useful the actual cardboard box the Supernote A5X2 comes in is. I don't mean the brown one that the tablet, cover and pen come in. That one's really nice and upcyclable too (once you pull out the inner separator it makes a great folder organizer).

The one I mean is . I carry my Manta around daily in a backpack, and it sits in that one box that it came in. You need to carve out the cardboard in a couple of places to make room for it with the cover on, but otherwise it makes for a perfectly sturdy, light and practical case. The magnetic closing mechanism is just right (you can partially open it to slide the tablet out while in the backpack without taking the whole box out), the dimensions are a good balance between sturdiness and heft, and for a disposable bit of packaging it's unbelievably durable.

I realize most people have thrown theirs away, but in case you haven't and are a bit paranoid (like me) about harming the tablet, try using it.

Oh yeah, and the Manta itself is ok too I guess. :)

That's a cool use for the box! I got my A5 in the pre-manta days. The box was good quality, but I sounds like they've improved it. Hope you're enjoying your supernote!!

I am... There are lots of little details that jump out at you as well-thought out. Little choices that signal it was designed with care and experience (the elastic strap instead of a magnetic pen holding system, the screen cover, the organization of the OS, the companion app, etc.).

I catch myself judging other e-readers and thinking "oh yeah, I wouldn't want to be doing that thing that way, this is truly better". A few things (like the two-finger + circling gesture) could be more usable in practice, but there's room for them to improve.

The possibility of improvement is the most exciting part for me. I got mine three years ago, and they've added so many features in that time that it feels like a new device. I've still not got round to spending time figuring out stickers and how to make them useful for me, but they seem like a cool feature. And I only just heard about InkFlow but can't wait to try it!

In a world where most devices are designed to be replaced every two years, it's so refreshing to have a company that actually discouraged people from replacing their old models.
