I'm a coffee person. I brew a pot every morning, and I drink about half of it nowadays. Back when I was still drinking the whole thing, I would need something for long vacation car rides. Doing the math, a few energy drinks isn't as much as all the coffee, so I would ration out three energy drinks throughout the day instead. It always left me with poor sleep and a headache the next day.

At the rate I'm going, I'll probably be brewing myself loose leaf tea instead soon, but that's another story.

Have you tried chocolate covered espresso beans?

All the caffeine and no liquid.

But really easy to accidentally eat too many

They're really easy to snack on a shitton if you're not paying attention

I figured that one out the hard way

I mentioned my habit to a doctor.

One of his classmates had to go to the hospital with a caffeine overdose after buying a five pound bag to smack on during finals.

When Ruthie says come see her

In her honky-tonk lagoon

Where I can watch her waltz for free

’Neath her Panamanian moon

An’ I say, “Aw come on now

You must know about my debutante”

An’ she says, “Your debutante just knows what you need

But I know what you want”

Oh, Mama, can this really be the end

To be stuck inside of Mobile

With the Memphis blues again

Good news for me is that I didn't eat enough to go to the hospital, I had to call out of work the next day though as I didn't sleep AT ALL that night.

Slept like a log the following night though.

I overate them once. Wasn't too bad, I finally drifted off around 2 am. What I noticed was I didn't feel jittery or manic, just couldn't sleep.

But yes, use with caution.

Once snacked on them with a friend in the back of a bus not knowing they were coffee beans. Next thing i know im white water rafting and i cant even swim.

I highly recommend the tea, honestly. I switched from coffee to tea for years. The caffeine buzz was smoother and lighter, but still satisfying. Issues with dairy are the only reason I switched back to coffee. Oatmilk works a lot better in coffee than tea.

i'd recommed Sansbury red if you're making the switch. Its a strong, very flavorful english breakfast. Tetleys or PG tips is also solid, and a bit easier to get in the states. Not as good, but still pretty good.

A good "always on" boiler is also a great tea investment. The insulated ones use very little power and keep water at boiling all day so you can make an instant cup.

I was considering making a pot of hot water in the coffee maker and brewing in there. Does it keep well in a thermos?

A coffee pot doesnt get quite hot enough for black tea, but its pretty close. 195 instead of the 208 range. Likely work well enough.

Tea keeps great in a thermos. I used a zojirushi for years and it often would still be piping hot after hours. Ive had good luck with yetis as well.

I have a pot with a lid and a candy thermometer. I much use that for a bit while I decide if I am enjoying it.

I dunno, some of us are built different. I've been drinking 1-2 energy drinks per day for 20+years not to mention soda here and there and I've never had any issues whatsoever.

Is that a strip of LED's on the edge of their desk? What is the purpose of lighting one's belly? No judgement. Just curious.
