I'm making a Raman spectrometer
This is equipment I have so far to build it. I came here to ask where to archive everything I learned. Everything works on a technical level and I'm waiting to get the motivation to set up the Raman spectrometer

Raman spectroscopy is based on the interaction of light with the chemical bonds of a substance. This yields detailed information about chemical structure, polymorphism, crystallinity and molecular dynamics.
A spectrometer uses light defraction (like a prism does, spreading white ont rainbow) ro determine characteristics of the thing emitting the light. Dark bars in the rainbow produced indicate information about composition.

I was unfamiliar, so I did a cursory bit of research. Sounds very cool! But the tech costs 20 - 100k, so I'm assuming it's very technically difficult to assemble yourself. Good luck
so there a lot of reasons why those can be expensive. higher sensitivity, more frequency range, built in library. there's enough open source hardware to make this 250 dollar item webcam based spectrometer worth it.
Would be interesting to learn about making a machine that can cost a huge amount of money, will you make a video or an article in a blog about it?

Yeah I should make a video but I'd end up using a bot to voice it. I do want it as a PDF file and maybe a lemme post. So far the only place I archive it is in a elements server. So I do want be archived somewhere on the fediverse
