I only just finished setting up HomeBox after quite a while of thinking whether it would be worth it (it is), but I'm a bit confused about the Mail setup through environment (HBOX_MAILER_*) and how/whether it interacts with smtp-type notification channels:

• How can I check whether my environment setup is correct?
• Is there any way to to just attach a notification hook to the configured mail account, or do I need to pass in a full set of credentials every time/for every user?
