Food benefits end on Oct 31. I assume that's when the real pressure will begin. Democrats will probably cave at that point because they have a heart. I hope they don't but historically they haven't had a spine

You'd think... But they always cave. They trust a handshake deal or compromise and let the goal posts get moved. I'm not jaded at all

I'm starting to think that this all by design ... because even when the government was "functioning", it wasn't functioning

Yeah, everything was disgusting before but the fact the fact they get to keep doing their thing while the country gets kicked off SNAP and starves is insane

A lot of the ICE contracts are month to month. So come November, most of those turds are going to have to work for free.

Don't be so negative. I'm sure the admin will find some way to pay them. Probably declare them a "bare minimum security force."

Please someone call the general strike to start! If it gets kicked off and gets into the news cycle more people will join. We can't just sit around and hope enough people join the strike cards. It's not even being advertised to get more people signed up.

A strike without proper buy in will not work. People will not organically join on necessary levels. This is basic union organization type shit. You need to take entire businesses and supply chains out and that will not be accomplished by just random people stopping working in a spattering across the states.

If you want a general strike on a serious level, make sure your own work place is organized and unionized to be able to strike when needed

That would do something though. Protests with witty signs, and cosplayers makes for better news selling.

People can’t strike. They need to eat. We need to skip this bullshit and go right to the source of the problem. 💀

"Extend into next week" seems overly optimistic. We're only a few more days away from "extends into next month" and frankly I won't be surprised to hear "extends into next year" two months later. There is no end in sight.

What is must be endured.

There is one federal seat up for 2025 and it's for a Texas rep.

Local elections are also important, but I'm not sure what in context you're expecting people to do with that.

2

You pretty much nailed the context. Local elections are also important, so show up in 2 weeks and make sure the right people get elected.

Looking at more important things did you all notice how ugly the finish is on that stone work? I think some polishing to a mirror finish and gold coating would be better....

It'll get close to the beautiful building that everyone recognizes from the bills. But it won't touch it! Certainly we all love the history landmarks and respect their non gold-ess. Right?

I don't feel like working Friday either, but I have accountability for my responsibilities. Congress on the other hand...

You reached the end
