In Germany and Sweden yes, sometimes I had a beer or speciality coffe advent calendar, but the Kids mostly have chocklade ones.

In Finland absolutely, it's essential as kids to have a chocolate calendar. Nowadays I prefer the beer version.

In Denmark we have a "daily" calendar instead, mostly for kids. But the weekly ones exist too
