Then you also have "The D-Con Chamber" by Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer, who played Malcom and Trip in Enterprise.

They do the same thing but but currently focus on Enterprise.

They have video episodes on YT, interesting to see

Can't help it. Love it. Love Trip, love T'pol, Phlox is life, and the theme song fucking slaps. Humanity at odds with the Vulcans? The andorian plotlines? An actual feeling of newness and discovery? It's so good.

DS9 is still my favorite, though

Theme song nearly ruined the entire show. Absolute horseshit.

The whole Xindi arc and time travel bullshit was just overplayed ass.

Agreed that there were some top-notch characters, especially Trip and Shran.

I respect your opinion, and fundamentally disagree. You're never going to convince me it wasn't great. But I do get why people didn't like it. It just happened to sit really well with me, until the last episode which didn't actually happen and was never filmed nor aired. Nope. Nuh uh

14

Nope, not allowed. You take that stance, you own that bullshit final episode that was so ridiculous that I had actually completely forgotten about it until you just brought it up.

I've recommended it before but Improvised Star Trek is really great (if you're into comedy podcasts, that is). It's set in the TNG/DS9 era and they obviously have a lot of love for Trek. Some of the first episodes are a bit rough around the edges but I've listened all the way through multiple times. Can't recommend enough.

Oh IST is maybe my favorite podcast, I miss it so. Canonical Star Trek as far as I'm concerned. If you like Lower Decks you'll like IST. Lt. Greg and Ensign Spot live forever in my heart.

"Canonical Star Trek as far as I'm concerned"

One hundred percent. I also miss it so. Nothing else quite scratches that (ensign) spot.

Being Asian, I did a silly Harry Kim costume at STLV this year that I called EHK. Got my hair styled just like Garrett from “Unamatrix Zero, Part 1”. Garrett says on the podcast that was the best his hair ever looked in the series. He was amused when I told him this.

Garrett also loved my EHK; asked for a photo of me and a video explaining it. So all I did was dress up in the early 2370s uniform, wear an ensign pip and slap a mobile emitter (Fansets released a new mobile emitter at STLV which was super popular). Emergency Harry Kim: activate when you need an ensign to disappoint. Ironically the Starfleet Academy trailer had been released two weeks earlier.

If y’all like Star Trek podcasts, I do like what the team at greatest gen puts out. Especially the TNG stuff.

My wife is fucking obsessed. they do pretty good, but I was disappointed they didn't hit the full potential on some epsiodes (I wanted far more prank call jokes when I listened to the Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night (DS9) ep

Throwing Random Trek into the ring. It has been going for a long time so it has an extensive back catalog already. Every week a random episode from the Star Trek franchise is chosen by the host as well as a “random” guest to discuss it.

Waiiit every week? Is my feed not up to date? The latest episode in mine is from August 2024 and I’m desperate for new ones!

2

Okay at least my feed isn’t messed up.

However, Scott has been good with The Vulcan Hello on new (live-action) Trek, with Jason Snells (sp?), the seemingly most-often “random” guest! So there’s a suggestion for you if you didn’t know.

1

I've seen them at Dragon*Con a couple of times! Pretty entertaining, though I haven't gotten around to listening to the rest of their podcasts.

3

I'd gone through a few episodes of The Shuttlepod Show, but got distracted. Looks like this is basically the next iteration of that idea.

Talk radio is dumb even if they are talking about star trek.

I'd rather just watch some episodes instead of listening to the actors talk about the episodes.

This is a star trek post in a star trek community where i’m a prolific commenter. I’m not worried about a few downvotes from people disagreeing with me. I’ll comment on any thread with my thoughts because that’s how i am. You can do the same.

-2

I hate people who can't handle an opposing view. Group think and echo chambers are toxic no matter what the topic is.

3

Commenting on threads on the internet isn't antisocial behavior.

Neither is someone stating their opinions.

3

You can look at my history on lemmy.world or here on piefed. It's one of the communities I frequently comment in and lots of the other regular posters recognize me so yes, I'd say I'm a prolific commenter.

Yeah, I also hate learning extra information about something I enjoy, and would prefer to only have the same information repeated at me instead.
