This is a really insightful article, explains why the Ukrainians are so dogged.
Yeah, once the M14 highway comes within artillery range things are going to get interesting.
What I'm looking at is Tokmak - if they manage to take or even siege Tokmak, Russian logistics are going to Germany very difficult. In armchair general mode, I wouldn't even be looking to go further south this year, but rather to push the rest of the front southward instead.

Getting to Germany is indeed their Holy Grail - a feat which, according to decades of propaganda, their forefathers pulled off on their own.
