OpenStreetMap is a map of the world like Google Maps, but entirely volunteer made like Wikipedia.
Being one such volunteer (neeeerd), I of course dedicate my time to tasks of utmost importance, such as mapping out useless american sidewalks in excruciating detail

Open source would be so much worse without the detail-obsessed nerds. People like you make things better, and I know its largely unrecognized.

I have personally mapped some ungodly terrible sidewalks, they look truly hideous on the map, because they are hideous in real life.
