I saw it said it was dumb and moved on... and then there was this whole thing about it... was weird... then they changed it back and I said thats dumb and moved on...

I remember hearing about it and thinking "that is a pretty stupid marketing move given their schtick" and heard there was a restaurant redesign to go with it and went to look it up since no one had detail on it.

So a quick Internet search and saw that conservatives just lost their damn minds about them going woke and that the new logo was woke and everything was just so woke. I decided to tolerate one because she claimed that she was going to visit one to show the remodel. Turns out she had no idea about cracker barrel because it was just the same look as always, but she seemed genuinely perplexed that the staff was polite and "not woke at all" (i.e. white). She was utterly confused because all her online exposure had her all geared up for some rude minorities...

No, it's been a thing for years, especially during the election(s). This was much more easier to isolate and measure, I think, because there's really no reason to tie it to politics.

Well, obviously. That's been hapoening with other stuff too - eg the phrase "Blue Anon." Sometimes stuff like this is for market manipulation, eg shorting Cracker Barrel stock.

Seems close to being tortious interference / negligent interference. They're just lying to damage a business.
