okay

I'm a bit shaken, heart racing

just called in an assault I heard and saw next to the train station across the road

husband followed after he put shoes on

guy dragged a woman away

cops came within 5 minutes ,

we heard her scream again and the cops went to chase them down

no other neighbours came out

bad people come to quiet places ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ˜ญ

cops came so quick

I used the metro emergency system at the train station, they are well trained and so fast

I think the attacker followed or waited for a target near the train crossing at the station to drag them to the dark park

7

yes, there is a red button, a blue button and a speaker

there was no one else around

the victim was most likely the only person who got off the train

it's a very quiet area,

the screaming was very loud

I wish I was strong enough to intervene, all i could do was call for help

8
aussie.zone

I know thereโ€™s a strong inclination to jump in and help (and good on you for wanting to), but itโ€™s actually better not to put yourself at risk, because then you might be injured too

6

Holy shit. Calling for help is awesome. I would not have thought that area of town at all unsafe at this time of night (I am a Westie too) ๐Ÿ˜ฒ that's scary.

Makes me glad I live VERY close to train station in a well lit area. But still.

4

Thankyou for being brave enough to act โค๏ธ

6

I'm fine,

I hope she was found, one cop chased on foot crossing the railway line, the other took the car

6

Thatโ€™s terrifying. Hope you are ok. Your quick actions may have saved her. Hope the police were able to track down and intervene. Unfortunately, bad people are everywhere.

2

Word gets around lol

Edit: I think these are strays from about 2 blocks away if theyโ€™re the ones Iโ€™m thinking of.

I wish there was a โ€œfountainโ€ arrangement where your bath water was cyclically pumped back up and showered over you while being kept warm by a heating element.

6

You could use a submersible camp shower pump and top it off with hot water every now and then.

Woke up to early pakidge on my day off, so i can set everything up and play around with it today.

My numpad arrived and it's bigger than i expected. A different type of clicky to my keyboard but it feels good. It looks like a futuristic phone from the 80s.

::: spoiler I'm calling you from the future: future:

10

I forget which model this is exactly but they do versions based on the NES, commodore64, and some others. I just got the one that would best match my keyboard because I didn't need to pay the premium for the keychron numpad

Neighbours are playing "we are early birds and think 6am is a reasonable time to fire up power tools". Dangerous game to play next to a woman who thinks midnight is an early bedtime and likes metal.

Especially since His Lordship is in KL right now so there is literally no stopping me

8

Mine are fixing up their house to lease / sell, and were using a bandsaw last Sunday after 10pm. I thought of taking revenge early next morning with a guitar and amp (I canโ€™t play guitar), but restrained myself. Bloody rude!

3

I forgot it was a public holiday tomorrow. ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ

5

No. Akshully, today is really Friday even though it's Thursday when written down. This may be a comforting thought.

4
aussie.zone

Thanks everyone for your kind and supportive words.

I'm ok, I'm still a bit worried about the victim, I hope they are ok.

6

The crimestoppers website might have some information tomorrow - particularly if the police are still trying to find/identify the perpetrator.

Been freaking out over a new thing on Melbcatโ€™s muzzle (hoping it was just a booger but looked like another precancerous lesion) however sheโ€™s now knocked the scab off same as with the first one.

Iโ€™d already been told to wait until the first starts growing back before she can be prescribed the cream to deal with it and will probably be told the same thing here, but I did get photos beforehand and will be monitoring.

Sheโ€™s still eating well, climbing into visitors laps for cuddles, asking to go outside, throwing hands with uninvited cats and jumping up into her favourite chair by herself. Sheโ€™s doing really well and enjoying her golden years.

Brb working out how to sacrifice young pop stars to extend her life and vitality.

Right. 2 interviews next week. One is a "if we like you no 3 stages bullshit" the other is 3 stages bullshit lol

Putting out roughly 20 applications a day. I reckon the one and done is a good chance and I actually want the job. The other would be a stop gap.

If you have a smart watch, check how much deep sleep you are getting. It should be between 1.5 to 2 hours every night. Not saying that's the problem but that's what you should aim for, for a restful sleep.

5
CEOofmyhouse56reply
aussie.zone

That's not too bad but I think you could benefit with more. Now look at your REM. You also need between 1.5 to 2 hours. Both are important.

If the screaming is happening with in the first few hours of sleep it's probably deep sleep related. If it's happening more towards the morning then it could be REM related.

Overstimulation during the day, both physical or mental, could also give you sleep problems.

4

Nah. Sleep studies interest me.

My daughter used to have night terrors as a wee one. I knew exactly when and at what time they would happen.

Soo, listening to the audio books and interviews about the brit royal fam

they have the sociopath genes in the family and unfortunately the circumstances means that kids born with that tendency are indulged, like edward 8 and andrew and they become appalling criminal adults

and then the behaviours become so bad that they can't be ignored and public drama ensues

the other thing is that the royals are living in the past, thinking that they are somehow special and that others think they are special

they just don't seem to understand the people that surround them are employees who have their own lives , they are employees, not serfs and not their friends

Diana is only a few weeks older than me , she really needed a good friend, someone older, but then she rejected all good advice on how to cope with her life ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ she did not seems to get wise, just more cunning, not the great parent that she is deemed to be, good parents don't include kids in their drama

security seems a bit extreme but then I suppose when your position in inherited, not elected, threats/violence is the only option for change

people forget that the royals and aristocracy collect taxes from their duchies, so people pay council taxes and a portion of that goes to the royals fir no reason other than they are born to it, it's unacceptable, this is how they are so rich

bring on the republic, elections are soo good, it means change is easy and without drama

Got some diffs of opinion on this - not trolling - just giving my opinion for what it's worth.

::: spoiler rant "bring on the republic, elections are soo good, it means change is easy and without drama" - please tell that to Mr Trump

"Diana is only a few weeks older than me , she really needed a good friend, someone older, but then she rejected all good advice on how to cope with her life ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ she did not seems to get wise, just more cunning, not the great parent that she is deemed to be, good parents donโ€™t include kids in their drama" -

Imo she was far too young for the role, and was a victim of poor parenting herself. I agree that she made some VERY poor choices but imo she was fundamentally as thick as two short planks. An intelligent person would have run a mile from the whole Prince Charles thing. And a lot of girls did - including Camilla.

"they have the sociopath genes in the family and unfortunately the circumstances means that kids born with that tendency are indulged, like edward 8 and andrew and they become appalling criminal adults - and then the behaviours become so bad that they canโ€™t be ignored and public drama ensues" -

I don't actually believe in sociopath genes - imo sociopathic behaviour is more to do with parenting and modelling from caregivers. Both the examples you give were raised by nannies - as was King Charles - and those nannies were more or less abusive. Particularly in the case of Ed8 - he was a profoundly damaged human being - bordering on mental illness - and had been from childhood. There was also a large contingent of the aristocracy who all shared a similar remote parenting regime - nannies etc. so the royals were not particularly unique. They were just more visible. And there were a LOT of people who cheered them on in their bad behaviour for a lot of different motives.

I do consider that the British royals have a fundamental streak of plain ordinary stupidity - you can see this from the Stuarts onwards, that is exacerbated by mostly remote parenting and unrealistic expectations from various governments/the general public. Small wonder that so many decided to resign from being reasonable human beings.

:::

I'm just glad they've largely lost all their political power - just figureheads now and that's how it should be. An expensive luxury but one that quite a lot of people can't do without it seems. And they're good for tourism.

7

I just can't bear the whole idea

::: spoiler spoiler

elections are so powerful the gop have worked for decades to subvert them

โ€˜Cheesecakeโ€™ filling for the white? If the heat of the casing wouldnโ€™t curdle the cream cheese or it wouldnโ€™t have to be shelf stable for long. (Iโ€™m assuming chocolate or candy melts)

A lemon cheesecake or buttery vanilla/white chocolate flavour could round things out nicely.

Edit: Hereโ€™s a white chocolate filling https://anitalianinmykitchen.com/homemade-filled-chocolates/

Or cookies n creme

4
melbaboutownreply

There are flavouring oils for use in chocolate, otherwise combining chocolate and corn syrup for modeling chocolate allows you to use water based.

Lorann should have something for you, most probably at a baking/cake decoration supplies shop.

Edit: Ok I remembered wrong, I saw Lorann years ago in the baking supplies shop but despite calling them โ€˜oilsโ€™ Lorann donโ€™t seem to have oil based versions suitable for chocolate listed in their range other than the essential oils. Iโ€™m talking about something like this. https://www.bakeanddeco.com.au/roberts-confectionery-oil-flavours-30ml/

https://www.lollipopcakesupplies.com.au/product/roberts-confectionery-flavoured-oil-30ml

Also I used to use a kneadable sugar dough for decorations which can be painted with food colouring once dry. If you donโ€™t feel comfortable using raw egg white (similar to royal icing) you can substitute meringue powder which is pasteurised. It just means the decorations wonโ€™t set as hard. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yRGSVbFO0Cg

2

The Adelaide Chocolate Factory crรจme de menthe looks like it could be a chocolate oil, but I know the Queen essences tend to be water based. Which is fine for most things! Thereโ€™s just a risk of seizing the chocolate

These were the cheap ones: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007582608533.html

They weren't as good as the $200 Shoks pair, but my shokz have broken a little and the company wont address it, so I prefer the cheap pair because if they break I'll just get another. They're good enough quality and for the price difference it's a no brainer for me.

3

They're okay, I wear them under a beanie which sorts most wind noise at the moment.

2

I just bought the same ones as SaneMartigan and they've been good. My other pair are Lenovo and have been fine aside from my use case of wearing them with a helmet.

Things are pretty good on Aliexpress, just don't go for anything that looks too good to be true and check a couple of listings to get a sense of pricing

2
tombruzzoreply
aussie.zone

I've never bought a pair of Shokz and I'm not sure what the difference between them would be. It's not like normal headphones where I can see how more expensive ones would be better

2

Aside from that they broke a bit, my shokz are a better build quality, I can wear them in the shower (IP68) and the battery lasts longer but as I just said to lowXP, the price difference ends the debate for me.
