My cat recently passed away and I have a number of left over medications that I will throw out.

But before I do, I thought I'd see if they can be of use to any of the cat lovers we have on here.

4 x 100mg Gabapentin tabs.

11 x 0.1ml Vetergesic in syringes for oral application.

50 x 5mg WP Carbimazole: medicine for treating hyperthyroidism.

1 x Profender Allwormer for 2.5 - 5kg cats.

6 x 4mg Zofran Ondansetron wafers to treat severe nausea and vomiting.

1mg syringe of Mirtazapine - for appetite stimulation.

1 bottle of Otoflush.

Pick up in Melbourne CBD.

@mods, take down if this isn't allowed, totally understand.

9

Iโ€™m so sorry for your loss.

Your vet may take them to give to owners that canโ€™t afford the meds otherwise, I know our vet does this.

Otherwise consider donating it to the Lort Smith. The carbimazole especially will be coveted.

6

Ask your vet, they will offer them to fellow pet owners in hardship. That's what we did with Punkin's renal food

Need to send a a message to everyone.

No matter how bad things can get, it will get better.

If things are going well, enjoy that shit. It could be worse.

Hug your loved ones. Human or other.

Seatbelts!!

Hmmm. Took the dog to visit a friend. He peed on the inside coffee table then bit both of us when we went to shoo him off. Worst behaviour ever since I've owned him. I'm ordering a muzzle. It was his 13 birthday yesterday so maybe these are his teen years.

edit: Small-world-ey tho, my friend who got bit is Steve00's partner.

I wonder if there were any strange smells/scents that set him off? Something must have really put him off kilter!

2

Yeah, my mate does pet portrait photography so it would've had some smells about the place.

These antibiotics have destroyed me. Headache, low energy and mood etc.

Looks like that night out tomorrow will have to wait till next week.

it's not as bad as it looks, there are actually few weeds, they are just big, and the soil is sandy so it's easy to pull them

I'm going to make two big garden beds surrounded by paths , I'll make the paths by laying down cardboard then putting wood pavers on top of that . Then build up the beds a little. The pots will remain around the edges.

I can't do lawn as I can't get a lawn mower in there, so garden it is, and it will nice to have vegies too.

I have an upstairs balcony for relaxing in .

That sounds like a fun project (s) :)

But please put some non-slip shit on those wooden outside stairs where ted is sitting.

That should come up nicely. I'd probably use wood chip mulch instead of actual pavers for the paths, then you can just keep adding more over time as they break down to refresh it. I'd also be a bit worried about pavers getting slippery.

I think it is much better not to have a lawn for most purposes, it is a lot of upkeep for an area most people don't actually use. Garden beds with ground covers or native grasses generally look great, are less maintenance and if done right provide great habitat for birds and small animals.

2

woodchip sounds like a good idea , yeah, pavers might get slippery as the garden is watered

I've decided to pull the trigger and get a wireless numpad. I got this 75% keyboard and whilst it has been great, I like having the numbers in a tidy square too much.

I think a detached numpad is the way to go because they stick out the side of your keyboard and you don't need them until you really need them. Wireless lets you put it away when not in use and you can put it on either side of the keyboard as well. As a lefty I've wished for a left side numpad for a long time.

I think I'll get the 8bitdo one as it has a screen and can work as an independent calculator as well. Great for not needing to add a calculator window to your screens on top of everything else.

My pro 2 has been solid for years. The 3 looks great and whilst no removable battery is a downgrade everything else in it seems solid

YL's out doing the grocery shop while mum and dad are enjoying a few drinks. This the best.

Ps. I wonder what I'll be paying for from Aldi's middle aisles. ๐Ÿค”

My DiDi driver is playing a very strange chant-type song in a different language, something I might hear in a yoga class, and I think itโ€™s just the same song on repeat. This is not the Friday night party starter I wanted, instead Iโ€™m getting put to sleep.

I had an autopilot failure on the way home. Went straight when I normally turn and suddenly realised I was at an intersection I'd never seen before. My sense of direction was still good though as I turned the right way, but it was a bit disorienting.

I was moving house (couch surfing really) so much at one stage in my life that I got on the wrong tram and only realised when I got off at my old stop and went, "oh yeah, I moved out of there" ๐Ÿ˜†

You may have seen an incident that blew up on reddit about the person who put their pet rat in the fridge and the butter in the cage and then had to fight to extricate the rat who had discovered the ham.

that was me. Autopilot and exhaustion are a helluva combination.

I got home from graveyard shift, had Onion (rat) roaming merrily on counter while making toast. Eat toast. Put things away. Take rat back to cage. Realise i was putting tub of margerine in rat cage. Panic, bolt back into kitchen, tear open fridge full of apologies.

Onion had discovered the deli ham and clung to sides of fridge when I tried to remove her

You got me with rat on the counter. Nope Nope Nope Nope.

I was once at a friend's house when her cat was licking the butter. Friend said "naughty baby" and put the lid back on and put it back in the fridge. I never ate there again.

5

Onion the Rat! Love it! At least you realised before you'd tucked yourself into bed for a nap. And she was having her best day because who wouldn't want to be trapped in a smorgasbord.

5

My ex brother-in-law applied what he thought was roll on deodorant and was mystified and freaked out about 10 minutes later when his armpit hair began to fall out

6

Boyo once applied toothpaste to this face instead of sunscreen. It was all over his face and beard before he noticed. I absolutely howled laughing and took a picture (with permission).

Itโ€™s a good sign if your resume is getting viewed a lot in an hour? Iโ€™m paranoid that because my probation was terminated that Iโ€™d be blacklisted somehow.

I think it's good but whether anything comes of it is a separate issue. And unless people from your old place talk to others there's no way for anyone to know. It's almost surprising what you can still get away with in the working world by either just omitting things or having someone to back you up.

The kodi refinement moves ever-onwards.

Now His Lordship has a whole widget and playlist just of "New Episodes" because more than one entry in "continue watching for poonhandler mcgee" was apparently doing his head in.

We have a pc permanently slaved to the tv, and since the ADHD diagnosis His Lordship is being a lot more open about his hardships. Finding files on the fileserver? Headfuck. So i built a netflix-like kodi interface and he's taken to it like a duck to water. I keep refining it to make life easier for him.

The user profile name is currently "Poonhandler McGee", i need to put a new one in. Shaggins Fartwaffle? Purseslapper Jones? Peter Gangbiscuit?
