Arsenal Insider: "Trossard surely has no future at Arsenal"

Fifteen minutes later announcements come out from various sources that he's signed a new contract.

Not much of an insider then!

All that aside, I'm glad we're keeping him around. He's a fantastic squad/impact player with real quality, and he has the ability to conjure something out of nothing.

More money for? Don’t get me wrong, he’s a big part of the Left but am I missing something? Just placating?

I don't understand this honestly. Either keep his current contract or get an extension. Why just pay him more for no reason? Sure, he's underpaid, but like... we have no reason to change that contract besides some disgruntlement from him. And he signed that original contract himself. At least give ourselves some benefit from signing it. I don't see any.

Yeah, I've kinda of been wondering what the purpose is behind this news. I think he's a good squad player and I don't mind he's around, but it seems strange.

I wonder if the club is pessimistic about player sales and is keeping PSR in mind?

This way, they don't have to worry about selling him for a pittance (because of how bad we are at selling) and trying to replace him with someone who is PL proven and will cost more.
