Android Auto and GrapheneOS

Hi! I've tried many methods to get CoMaps to work with Android Auto running GrapheneOS, but I just can't get A.A. to even recognize CoMaps exists. I tried a secret and hidden Android Auto settings menu and I tried redownloading CoMaps from Aurora instead of the apk... both to no avail. Does anyone else have pointers? Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask!

This is a known issue with Android Auto itself. It doesn't allow any navigation app to be loaded into AA that wasn't installed by Google Play. Try installing CoMaps via Google Play and it will appear in AA. Only navigation apps are affected by this.

Do you see a difference in using Aurora instead of Google Play?

Installing via aurora will not help. AA still knows it wasn't installed via google play. The only work around I've heard about is to root your phone and use some tool to edit the install source. But I've not tried that myself.

Update: Thank you. Using GPlay to install fixed my problem. In an effort to de-Google, it was an absolute last resort. Appreciate you, friendo.

I am using lineageos with Magisk. I installed the Android 4 Auto MicroG Module and the Android Auto - XLauncher Unlocked. With this i can see almost any app on Android Auto, even of they are not installed from Google PlayStore. I don't know if you can do something similar with GrapheneOs.
