I wasn't a big fan of the Netflix attempt, and the more accurate Chinese series was a little bit better, but neither were groundbreaking. I actually think Apple's Foundation is a good example of deviating from the source material and being entertaining on its own -this is not a popular opinion with the Asimov purists.

That said Liu's books don't get really good until after the first IMO so I hope that Netflix can improve this next season.

I haven’t read the book (yet), but I’m very fascinated with the concept. As a show-only consumer though, I found the execution of the show leaves a lot to be desired. I hope they improve on the next season.

This show was so fucking bad. It's in the same category as The Big Bang Theory: stuff made about and for people by people who aren't part of that thing. Big Bang Theory is about and for nerds by non-nerds, and this show is about science and for nerds but made by people who don't understand even the simple basics. Huge glaring errors and dumb as fuck takes.

I couldn’t finish the first season. I was really intrigued by the stuff that went on China and I love Benedict Wong and Liam Cunningham, but holy fuck even they weren’t able to carry this show.
