At long last, I finally got my results for the Cursed Paper of Doom and managed to scrape through an H1 despite a shambles of a presentation - keeping my final score for this dragged-out degree to a low H1. Woohoo!!!!!

Interesting new clothing shop(?) just opened in Bridge Rd Richmond. Called Infinite Apparel. It's sort of a subscription service for clothes. You pay a monthly subscription, and choose clothes from their racks - number of items depends on subscription size - eg $50 per month for 5 items and 1 pair of either shoes or sunglasses. At end of month you drop off or mail back the clothes and pick out new items to take home. They clean them thoroughly and put those items back on the racks for other users. Sort of a circular shared wardrobe.

Clothing quality is very high - natural fibres, well made and in perfect condition. The current stock is clearly skewed to the young adult male - say 20s to 30s who want to look stylish and wear a variety of quality clothing at a cheap price. Most of it is smart casual/casual. I reckon they're targeting office workers with very little closet space and who haven't the space/time/inclination/skills to do maintenance on quality clothing. Colour range is about half office-uniform neutrals, and about half brightly coloured.

If you're a standard size this might actually be a way to dress nicely at a predictable price without getting bored with your current wardrobe. Plus the laundry service of course. Short term business visitors to the city might also find it useful.

I hope they do well.

I've just had a bunch of request for access to files...which is fine, but there's a process. Same people who are requesting access, cannot be bothered replying to my emails that are part of the process.

Guaranteed I'll be getting messages tomorrow on how they still can't access documents.

Absolute fucking tools.

Chew the cloves into a little poultice then keep the clove-mash over the sore gum spot. Cloves have numbing stuff in them.

4

Oh right. I'm feeling a bit better now and I'm not that desperate yet. I've got medication that can numb if it gets really bad.

3

I've got like a million tiny things to do around the house and stuff

I will make a list tomorrow and just spend the day crossing them all off

I had the opportunity to see Ozzy and his band play live in the 90โ€™s. He was very energetic and sounded great. Other bands that played were System of a Down, Rob Zombie, Black Label Society, P.O.D, and Deftones. Many others I canโ€™t remember. It was a great day and at least I got to see him play.

7
aussie.zone

Was talking to workmates about Ozzy today - he definitely went out with a bang. Wish Iโ€™d seen sabbath live

5

I actually wish I saw Ozzy in the 80s after he left Sabbath and had Randy Rhoads as guitarist.

Alternately, I would have loved to see Sabbath with Dio on vocals, which I consider just as good,

3

Iโ€™m not a huge deftones enjoyer but I get the appeal. They definitely have their own cool style of sound but it just never hit with me.

2

My old hound used to shove his cold nose into my elbow at wake up time. Never missed waking me up.

6

I wish I had all the info to do mine. I have some ETFs (investment funds) and it takes them a few months to do all the end of year accounting so I have to wait. I'm expecting a decent refund so I'd really rather get it done and have the money back in my pocket sooner.

Explorer socks. Furry side in or furry side out?

6

It's never even crossed my mind to wear them furry side out. I guess you could, but I reckon it'd be less comfy.

5

Bamboo heavy duty thick work socks from Fantastic Variety, worn fluffy side in. Was very disappointed in my last Explorer socks, they just ain't what they used to be.

3

I've always gone with furry side in, but I checked with both Mr Woof and Miss Meow and they are adamant that furry on the outside is always correct.

2

Finally got my bike fixed after two weeks without. Looking forward to a commute where I'm not stuck behind a string of cars the whole way.

But first, coffee on the couch and then a chilly dog walk.

6

I have already done the walk and am doing the coffee now. The walk was definitely chilly, including some very crunchy grass.

Japanese supermarket adventures update: I was toooo keen and went before any of the fresh sushi or hot food was available, but there was still cute things to check out. They had beautiful plates and bowls! Came out with furikake (thank you for the suggestion, Kitten!), miso soup, my favourite Pretz sticks. Already planning on going back when I'm on leave so I can try their sushi.

6

Enjoy! Hope you like the furikake, it's great on freshly steamed rice ๐Ÿ˜‹

yay, today's big errands are done

6
Rusty Ravenreply

I am jealous, I definitely need glasses for driving. Or walking. Or sitting. Basically my vision sucks at all distances, so if I am doing anything that involves my eyes being open I need glasses.

7
Seagoon_reply
aussie.zone

hugs , you don't need glasses for hugs ๐Ÿซ‚

my near vision is slowly getting worse, it's not too bad , I can read but it's a little unclear , so I'm ordering new reading glasses next week

5

I may need glasses to ensure I hug the right person though...

My close vision has deteriorated to the point I got reading glasses this year. It's a bit of a pain because I have to swap them constantly for my multi-focals every time I do something else, but it is definitely worth it to be able to read. The other main downside is that when I want to stop and think about what I read I am in the habit of staring off into the distance, and with the reading glasses on that means staring at unfocused blobs instead of trees and clouds.

2

Well you did choose to move to Ballarat. On the bright side, Mr Woof will probably shed out very quickly come springtime due to the cold weather. And his next year's winter coat will be extra thick and plooshy. Ditto Miss Meow.

4

I think I'll rest up too. Back is sore and I need to lie down.

sweet dreams everyone ๐Ÿ˜˜

Correct to be scared imo. And I reckon things will get worse before they get better. Distinct possibility that that creep Vance will end up in the White House before term's end - and that's a horrifying possibility.

5
MeanElevatorreply
aussie.zone

He's more clever than Trump BUT does not have the same cult following. There's still the hope that senate and congress will flip blue during the midterms, which means nothing new gets passed and impeachment can proceed (provided enough dems grow a spine).

Vance will not have the blind support that Trump did, despite being associated. Takes years to build up a base like that, and he has absolutely zero charm.

5
Seagoon_reply
aussie.zone

when trump dies his blackmailing dies with him, the new leadership might lose control of the gop politicians and thus the politicians will vote against leadership

so how would evil keep power

congress no longer sits, no legislation, only orders

kind of like hitler burning the reichstag ( not literally )

would the gop do it? maybe

3

GOP would definitely try and do it, but I would hope the cult turns on them. We'll have to wait and see I guess.
