Vision: Burbank commits to bringing the number of severe and fatal crashes down to zero by 2035.

Notes from the plan:

  • Around 43 collisions result in serious injury or death in Burbank every year.
  • Over 90% of vehicle-only crashes occur at intersections. 95% of bicycle crashes occur at intersections. Over 80% of pedestrian crashes occur while a pedestrian is crossing a street (60% total when they are at an intersection).
  • Over 80% of injury crashes occur on streets with a posted speed of 30 mph or higher, while these streets account for one-fifth of Burbank’s network.
