No comment on this movie in particular beyond love Will Forte, hate the talking dogs/mouth moving thing.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for starting to sticky threads with new movies to facilitate discussion!!!! This is one of the things I liked about the movies community in the other place. And setting up these threads takes a lot of work!
Will forte is not in this movie. Itās will Ferrell.
I honestly think the movie looks like garbage. But thatās just me. If it were forte, I might actually reserve my judgement. But itās not. Itās will Ferrell, and the man hasnāt had the most stellar record sinceā¦well, thatās up for debate. But itās been a minute.
Edit: ah, my bad errybody, Forte is in it. Stillā¦ if it were him fronting the poster and being the main draw, I might feel differently about it. But right now it just feels like another āsausage partyā type ānon-family friendly family movieā with big names to put butts in seats. Stupid, raunchy humor just because you ācanā isnāt my type of humor. I dunno, maybe Iāll be proven wrong when everyone tells me I need to see it and then Iāll enjoy it. Guess weāll find out. But I had similar feelings about anchorman 2 or, well, sausage party. Itās gonna be dumb and doesnāt seem worth my time

4/5 from the guardian reviewer, after watching the trailer I personally have 0 interest in this
I like the fact that itās rated r and has salty themes and language, not everything needs to be for kidsā¦and love Jamie Fox and Will Frerrel but also have zero interest. Nothing in the trailer was remotely funny. Oh Iām a dog imma fuck that couch. Seems like it would be funny but somehow still wasnāt.

Sorry, there arenāt many opportunities as good as this one to bust out Triumph the Insult Comic Dog jokes these days. Anyway, Iāve seen the trailer far too many times in front of other movies, and it looks a bit crap. Iām willing to be persuaded otherwise but that is what Iām assuming.
