An endorsement for group housing!

While it's got downsides, I'd say the rpg life happens a bit more of you've got 6-8 people living under one roof (or across 6 tents, three neighboring houses, etc)

Sometimes it takes some actual work not just expecting get-togethers to just happen. You'll get a lot of no but you'll spend more time with the people you care about than you would have otherwise

Your average RPG is typically a group of trauma survivors clinging to each other in a crisis situation.

At the same time putting a group of adults together and doing a thing is the basis of many game shows and reality TV.

It really helps if you all have a goal in life that can be achieved if these 6-8 people spend their days working together

8 people around the table and only 1 of them talks at a time... Everybody's going to be so bored. 3-4 PCs, 1 DM.
