From the questions you often ask here, it seems you really enjoy movies - I hope you two have fun!

Ah it'll be hard to maintain that standard so I'm going in without the high expectations.

I've also been avoiding the trailer or anything else online but got a bit of a spoiler from a meme on here.

Looks like we're moving up to Thursday too. Woop woop 🙌

Edit: I did look at the IMDb score though and it's solid

I'm just out. No spoilers - I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have fun.

Ai senses are tingling. On the right the to do pyramid is smaller than on the left (3 as opposed to 4 blocks)

Along with the green cube being in the same space as 2x2 white cubes, and missing a white cube for the first "step" on the bottom right of the cube staircase. prob where that green cube is supposed to go.

The rounded edges on the right panel are slightly sus, but ill chalk that up to more artistic style to quickly draw lots of cubes than sus.

Currently I'm enjoying a new coffee from my local roaster and listening to lord of the rings audiobook. I'm also dabbling in making a chain mail glove, because I think it's neat. I think I'll continue those things this week.

I have no idea what i'm doing, I just started looping some steel wire to other loops, it's pretty wonky because i don't know the correct technique, but i think i'm figuring it out. or maybe not :)

well, you know what they say: if at first you don't succeed, try two more times so your failure is statistically significant.

This may not be the most wholesome but I'm looking to make an indie rpg that tackles the non-choice of being born. There was a very angry thread about it lately and it's making me think about why I don't feel like him about this.

This seems really interesting, please keep us updated! Do you plan on open sourcing it?

I'm working on an even less wholesome software, a digital dead man switch. It'll send the user an email each month with a confirmation link in it, and if they don't click it for a few months, they are marked as dead and predefined last messages are sent to recipients via email (or another platform if I'll have the time to add it). It's also open source and self-hostable.

I think this one on particular wouldn't be open sourced due to the fact that I think it'd spoil the minor things that I'd like to add to the game. (For example make the quit game button in a certain state actually continue a cutscene or something like that)

Edit: Though otherwise all my other gamejam games are open source https://github.com/Gonzako

I think it's reasonable to assume that most players won't go through the source code. Those that do probably have a reason for it, such as wanting to improve the game. You could simply provide binaries.

If you don't want to do that that's fine, it's your game after all.

I'll give it a consideration but what do you mean by simply provide binaries?

1
Lenareply

You can build binaries so that users don't have to touch any code (and potential spoilers).

1

You can provide binaries and release the source code.

1

You could warn the players that the game is best played blind, and the source code will have spoilers. Beyond that it's up to them, I guess. (Or us. ...I'm genuinely curious about your game.)

Maybe we did choose it, and then part of the deal is getting your memory wiped.

4

My narrative goes around something like this! It isn't about choosing to be born but choosing to undo it

2

This may not be the most wholesome but I’m looking to make an indie rpg that tackles the non-choice of being born. T

This reminds me a bit Deltarune: it goes all the length to let you choose the head, torso, and legs you prefer... then its (referring to the body, aka "your creation") favourite food, blood type, colour... a gift... then a name. Then it says: "your wonderful creation will now be discarded. No one can choose who they are in this world."

It's the same general "vibe" I get from your idea - we don't choose certain things.

3

Oh, that's a neat point! Atm I'm just writing out concepts I'd like to tackle narrative wise and on the technical side I'm testing up a photograph based workflow for my art assets.

I want to continue my blog posts on how to deploy a correctly functioning *arr setup with k3s (Jellyfin, Sonarr/Radarr are done, Prowlarr and Qbittorrent are left) to document this process for myself if I want to recreate it in the future.

My other wish would be to bake or cook something new from an abroad country again, but there is nothing that catched my eye yet.

Might I suggest something called pempek? It's an Indonesian fish dumpling served with a sweet vinegar sauce. It's super good, but takes some time to make.

3
mander.xyz

I checked the recipe, and it looks really good! A bit on the laborious side, but it could worse. (Worse as in "cleaning sardines from their scales and guts at home, so you can grill them, for five people".)

2
lemmy.world

ooooh yeah, it's pretty tedious. But man, I think it's worth it. I haven't had the time or energy to make it in a long while, but hopefully i can make it one day soon.

another, easier, dish i could suggest is peri peri chicken. typically i would make the sauce and marinade a whole butterflied chicken in it for about 24 hours (I also add buttermilk to the marinade because it's killer), then bake or throw it on the grill to cook it. I used to do that on sundays back before my depression got really bad.

Wow, this looks delicious - and I have all ingredients in my kitchen+front yard! I'm probably trying it this week, barbecued, as soon as I get a non-rainy day. Thank you for sharing this!

2

Thanks for the idea! Imma make it this week then, it looks unique with this fish grinding method, although my mom will hate it cause she doesn't like fish at all. xD

Tuesday I'm going to bake myself a pizza. I'm planning olives, ham, bell peppers, boiled eggs, mushrooms, onion, basil for toppings.

It isn't just for me (my mum asked pizza Saturday, but a bit too late for dinner), but I feel like treating myself. Ah, I'm almost certainly buying some wine to drink alongside it.

Everything except the eggs sounds great -- and I'm not judging the egg, just curious:

I don't think of egg as a topping that would survive being baked. Does that go on before or after cooking? sliced or diced?

2
mander.xyz

The sliced eggs go alongside other toppings; none of the toppings requires a lot of cooking time, so the eggs won't get overcooked.

This is a twist on a common local (Brazil) pizza flavour, pizza à portuguesa (lit. "pizza alla Portuguese"):

Except I'm subbing tomatoes for mushrooms.

That looks great!

Growing up, I despised eggs except the ones that were thoroughly disguised(as in leavening)... I had a bad egg-salad experience as a kid and it stuck with me. In the last few years, though, I've come around and can enjoy them.

I'll have to give them a shot as a pizza topping. I imagine they vaguely fit the same texture/umami role that a slice of mozzarella does for a margherita pizza.

Thanks for the suggestion and enjoy yours tomorrow!

2

I do recommend giving them a shot. Worst hypothesis (you hate it) they're easy to pick out.

One hint I can give you, if making it at home, is to soft-boil them (8min). You want the yolk firm enough to slice, but not too cooked - to compensate for the baking.

enjoy yours tomorrow

Thanks!

I'll go hanging around in a park tomorrow afterwork.

Today I'll go to a Pilates class and have a workout afterwards. When done physical activities, Ill relax in the gym sauna.

5

I'm gonna clean my room up and get a (feminine! Yay!) Haircut

I also wanna go out at some point during this week, socialize with people I don't know yet

5

I finally rearranged my bedroom after wanting to do so for six months yesterday. This week I'm going to do some Marie Kondo'ing of my place and put things away that are currently just sitting out for no good reason.

1

Buy more things for my bike to be able to ride it to work. And buy yet more things I forgot are on my list.

1

Signing up to take a couple of certification exams later this year in order to advance my career. I've plateaued amd I don't like it
