tm is a new day so focus on that.

Yes, tomorrow is a new day, and maybe a better one. Our thoughts are with you. Vent here as much as you like.

r/melb has gone from under-moderated to over-moderated, bunch of cock mods there.

they really showed who they were when there was the reddit boycott

their sense of importance is just not based on reality

4

How dare you speak ill of the moderator's actions! Not cool. I downvoted the post.

9

Interestingly enough, I can still see the comment on that site

I'm all for political discourse, but keep it local (Dictator Dan anyone? anyone?) ๐Ÿ˜œ

8

reading the news is "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills."

facts and questions and asking for some propriety will get you banned

so much hate out there,

anyway, hugs, we don't do that stuff here ๐Ÿ˜˜

7
aussie.zone

Excuse me mods? Pilk here is inciting discontent. I suggest a temp ban for one month

6

Itโ€™s disgusting.

They canโ€™t even own up to what they did to you.

Shows how useless the mods are there.

Edit: also downvoted the comment.

6

I looked at it. Itโ€™s definitely a bit of an abnormal comment for r/DT. It seems like a bait comment because of the divisive nature of what the US and Israel are doing.

Also, Reddit mods arenโ€™t entirely trustworthy haha.

5

Glad it helped!

Iโ€™m not sure if the skin of the beans will get tough from the stock (as I hear that about cooking them in salt) but the writers of the recipes have probably sorted that out.

Another easy way to eat is crackers and pre cut vegetables with cheese or a protein dip. Iโ€™m not able to eat this now but I found a copycat recipe for a Tofutti cream cheese I used to love. Tofu is very cheap and quickly blended. ::: spoiler Metric option :::

For a no cook dinner you can also mix a tin of tuna with leftover rice then add crumbled nori and sauces. You can also get precooked cups of microwave rice.

If you have the money seriously consider buying some Ensure or protein bars for snacks. Multivitamin tablets. Fortified nutritional yeast or Marmite spread on buttered toast for the B12. (Consider margarine fortified with vitamins A and D.) Individual tubs of yogurt are easy.

Scoop sandwich tuna onto crackers or eat it from the can. Keep tins of chunky soup on hand to heat in the microwave and have fixings for sandwiches. Itโ€™s very easy to swipe on some mustard pickles and add a slice of cheese if you tolerate these ingredients.

Another idea is shredded bbq chook and premade coleslaw inside bread rolls.

Iโ€™m being so serious right now. If you become malnourished you will enter a downward spiral where you have no energy to take care of yourself or feed yourself.

That's some weird weather out there. Windy and warm?

Don't look at Tuesday and Wednesday though. Wednesday in particular... 11C maximum... big weather system coming in from the west. Ughggh but if it means rain in areas that desperately need it I'll tolerate it

My current shitbox is so tiny I'd rather not work from home unless I had to. Now if I had a fireplace,... sigh.

Luckily the office is very close by, so if they could kindly give me some indoor work to do on the Wednesday I'll be grateful. I really wish I was on a flight to somewhere warmer though...

Surely you can petition for an office day when the weather is shit?

I've done that in the past with some verbal bullshit.

3

Probably can, it's tricky this week with my unavailability on other days due to this thesis BS and sometimes jobs require us to be out on specific days. It's my last week with these shenanigans though so I'm sure we can work something out. If not, I'm chucking a sickie lmao.

I'm looking after a friend's place in the Yarra Valley for a few days, it's looking even colder and wetter. I will be parked by the fireplace Tuesday and Wednesday.

Oh dear lord it'll be brutal. Might want to set up a bed near that fireplace too...

So last week my micro manager sent me an email and tagged senior leadership about some bullshit task he wanted me to do, which I'd been doing the whole time.

I responded, let's say, confident in my response.

Since then, he hasn't said a word to me all day lol

This cold is treating me very badly - the congestion is not terrible but the brain fog is. I just did an online grocery delivery order and trying to make decisions was very hard.

I think I'll take the next two night shifts off and try working again next week. I really need to get the energy to take the washing off the line that's been there a couple of days already - at least it should be dry if it hasn't blown away. I might try to wash some towels too.

9

Go to the pharmacy and ask for the Pseudo cold and flu tablets. They make a real difference and are much better than the off the shelf varieties

45 minute combative meeting across from someone with bad breath. Oy joy. I wasnโ€™t involved in the combative-ness, but as a people pleaser it was awful.

Starting to feel better re: getting off that medication I mentioned.

aw man, I procrastinated big time this morning checking things about super and rescheduling appointments and shit. Now it's quarter to 9, and I have a stinking headache, and the results section that I really thought was gonna be easy, has been SO HARD because I fucking hate stats and don't understand any of it and I've been having a long back and forth with chatgpt to try and understand how to describe differences and shit and my brain HURTS. This is the part about academic research I loathe the most. I hate stats so much. Gaaaaaaah! Even when I think I understand I DON'T!

Hours and hours just to output three measly, but crucial, paragraphs for a total of 476 words... the discussion is gonna have to be a lot more streamlined, I've not even started on writing out full sentences ๐Ÿ˜ญ However, at least I now have a much better structure with which to concisely discuss the various findings (and merge things together in a sensible way), and also much more academically sound points (not just the equivalent of "yeah I reckon", but "look at the shape and statistical significance of shit").

Plus, I did a much-overdue data cleanup that I thought I'd give up on but really was better to do and not cleverly hide, so at least now I can confidently say my methods section is 99% (missing a couple references I can find at the last minute), and my results is 100%. Intro still stuck at 75% from Saturday...

Imma need some real powerful concentration juice tomorrow to (a) not procrastinate and (b) write that discussion section like I'm on fire before losing a lot of time in throwing in references and then reading up on that stupid paper so I can finish the 25% left of the intro. For now, I think I'm going to call it quits and go home before this headache gets any worse...

I voted in the Triple J Hottest 100 Australian Songs of all time. It's very Triple J coded with the songs you can vote on, I had to manually add Shit on the Liver by King Parrot. One of the greatest Australian songs and music videos of all time.

CD review. George Michael Older.

this music irritates me

the 60s Brasilian style backing music sounds like a Hammond organ , which might not be a bad thing

except Michael just doesn't have the rhythm or voice or skill for it, so it sounds bad

it's discordant

I tried the Cerave tub. It wasโ€ฆ fine? A bit mediocre.

Barely noticeable sting which is probably my barrier being compromised. A tiny bit more emollient than the tube, but itโ€™s still very thick and dry. I put on one heaped fingerful and then another trying to get it to moisturise as even a lot doesnโ€™t go very far.

It kind of disappeared leaving a thin waxy residue behind which felt a little stiff and uncomfortable. It feels like you need something more hydrating underneath and this would seal it in.

Honestly I rate the Vaseline Dry Skin Rescue body lotion higher and itโ€™s more economical but my skin suddenly started stinging and breaking out from that when it hadnโ€™t before. (Same bottle.)

Ugh. Thought it was just me having issues. I hope theyโ€™re not making all the stuff shoddy for profit margins

Edit: Was it the one with niacinimide though?

3

Not sure, it was in a tub with darkish blue writing, I recall it was about $18. I persevered with it for a bit, used it on my legs (my skin there used to be indestructible loI) but I've since chucked it out so I can't check.

3

Thanks, I might try that one when I finish the Cerave tub. Winter is making me so dry.
