This must be France-specific. Amex is nowhere near that large a chunk in other places, and there’s no Discover network shown.

I think it might be stock market floatation. Fiserv and Global Payments are processors, not card networks, for example.

According to a translator,

Turnover shares of the top 20 publicly traded payment companies

I admit to not knowing what this means and not caring enough to look it up. But I agree with both of you, Amex is way outsized and Fiserv/Global seem out of place. Not sure about PayPal because they seem to operate under their own rules.

If I understand it correctly, then this just shows how much the stock of the payment companies is traded. So barely saying anything

Yeah and does this include the ad-hoc economies of phone minutes in African nations?

Yeah, and WeChat / AliPay. I have heard that China is pretty big so I would expect those to be shown on there somewhere

I was thinking I would love to see europe lead the way and it only recognizes debt in its currency or from authorized systems. In other words if someone screws you with a bitcoin transaction and the legal systems shrugs its shoulders and says. Whatever. Sucks to be you. Those us systems can be part of it but only if they follow any laws thats put into place as requirements.
