Maybe she should move to South Sudan or Somalia if we’re so much worse off than them.

To be fair I think she clearly meant in the OECD, where we are second to last behind Luxembourg in GDP per capita growth, falling well short of inflation.

Meanwhile we are capping ourselves to lower our own standard of living and not even fighting climate change to do so, as we perform mass immigration to hide falling productive growth.

This then largely falls on the poor whose rents doubled and who are overwhelming the food banks. The rich already own a home and they invest outside of Canada, which Caroline Rogers has then increasingly warned about our diminishing investment into Canada.

I guess I'm tired of assuming what conservatives might have meant when they say things.

There's lots of legitimate criticisms, but we are far from the worst country in the world.

10

I agree with you. Conservatives purposely being vague all the time so they can deny their words later. They are purposely being vague so their base can then "fill in the blanks" with whatever spin they wish.

6

Just gotta love how lying is the bread and butter for Christians and conservatives

Alberta politicians have some of the lowest IQ in the 🌎

Ironic seeing as she's the one actively lowering Albertans' living standards

36

Here's the pattern as practiced by POTUS47, PP, Putin and Smith: describe all of your shortcomings and failures but pin it on the opposite side and you're golden as nobody can blame you back in that same sh#t. Or so the thinking goes

9

It may be a lie now but Conservatives are working hard to bring it closer to truth.

33

I would so fucking love to send her to the country that actually has the lowest standard of living in the world, and leave her there.

26

It's easy to get to Mogadishu too -- parachute, clown cannon, cruise ship. Sorted.

We could make a sport of it.

12

Don’t feed the trolls, don’t get the mogwai damp, and definitely don’t praise the Fr*nch.

I don't know who she is but let me guess: far-right.

I think that because we have the same problem in Spain. According to the far-right Spain is worst than Somalia.

23

Someone replied to you using her legal name Marliana Smith. If you curious as to why, she brought forward a law designed to hurt transgendered children, to require parental consent for schools to call them anything but their first name. Since she doesn't even go by her first name, some people now refuse to call her by her middle name, which she prefers.

She's financed by oil companies, a hypocrite, a liar, and rallies her voters by creating imaginary enemies out of "the other",. A very prototypical far-right politician.

She's a competent MapleMaga a secessionist. She's demanding that her land locked province gain pipeline access across Canada or they're leaving the federation.

I'd hardly call her competent. Her base is simply stupid.

11

Her base is stupid for sure. It's her oratorial skills that are competent. She says all the right things but her actions are in direct conflict with them.

6

I get that these people lie and people believe it. But these completely outrageous statements just doesn't make sense to me. Is anyone looking at canada thinking: wow, it's crazy to believe to no one has it worse than them

6

I love how the argument for who is worst between her, Moe, and Ford is just the last one to open their mouth

This. This is why we all think Alberta is full of fucking morons...

You want us to stop treating you like inbred maga morons, stop fucking acting like it!

16

You can't argue with stupid.

Just ignore them.

That REALLY makes them angry.

7

Well you see, she's really talking about millionaire and billionaire comforts in Canada as compared to rich people in other parts of the world. They have it so, so much worse here, it's downright barbaric! Hopefully that clears things up.

As opposed to the US where poverty doesnt exist and people just "stop being poor" because trump said so.

11

She does realize she has a majority government and is fully responsible for the current status (whatever that may be)? If she is so incapable in doing her job that the relative quality of life has dropped to such a degree, perhaps she should deport herself into the sun.

If we're going to compare to specific states, then we should be comparing to specific provinces. How's Alberta compare against other provinces, I wonder?

1

Oh shut the fuck up you grumpy old hag!! Who needs this traitor amoung us? Nobody but her Drumpf sycophants.

3

Canada has it pretty bad if they're worse off than Somalia or North Korea. Canada should really consider joining the USA so we can improve their quality of life.

I am most likely going to be downvoted but I have to speak out.

I am a 4th generation Canadian and I love Canada. Been coast to coast a few times. I feel there is something very rotten happening in our country (specifically Ontario) when the standard of care for the less fortunate and disabled people’s level of help is below that of the US (pre rump).

I would read US articles on how this or that was being done for their autistic child from services provided by the state or prosthetics and think to myself why have I never seen any service like this for our autistic child? I look into it. Nope nothing.

We have been accepted for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and special Services At Home (SSAH). It has been three years and we have still not seen any funding. Our child has had no support, no funding for their entire life so far.

This means that they will have permanent developmental issues for life without therapy. Worst part is we are not alone or unique in this, this is happening to thousands of autistic people across Ontario.

I won’t go into a longer rant here you can always look at my profile to see more on these topics.

We as Canadians need to stop “saying” we take care of our disabled and actually take care of them. Being in this nightmare limbo is horrible. Decide to take care of them or ship us off to the camps. At least we would not be in limbo anymore.

Here's the thing: our system isn't perfect, and you're seeing a facet where it's in need of serious repair.

The thing that blocks us is funding. Mr Ford, for all his televised strongman grandstanding, is not supporting a proper, complete, consolidated care under the control of the voter; his party typically goes for a privatized care system beholden to shareholders.

The American exceptions, where someone was able to scrape together or beg for the first period or phase of Medicare care in America, is not the rule but the exception. And we don't see but the exception.

We need to bring healthcare back in - leaving it to the provinces still, for herd safety - and have the level of care stay a perennial ballot issue. Get the mercenaries out, reap the rewards of consolidation and continued assessment and upkeep. We have a LOT to fix but we don't fix a house with dynamite (see: America).

If we truly want American-style mercenary healthcare as Mr Ford's party and Ms Smith's party trend towards, make us vote our entire way down that scummy slope to hell.

7

Yup, Ford has been cutting funding to public health, just like Smith in Alberta. Remember: public health is provincial. This is why I did not vote for Ford in the last 3 provincial elections.

2

I know its not a real solution, but that is one reason we moved from Ontario to BC, BC has way better social support services.
