I was a little wrong in my guess for green and even more wrong in blue, but I had enough of a general idea in both to make the connection.

Green I thought was just "animals used as metaphors", because to my knowledge bull and bear are economics, but hawk and dove are foreign policy, not econ.
Blue I thought was things you might talk about when you first meet someone.

I'd never heard of economic hawk and dove either, but they seemed opposite like bull and bear. The only other animal was doe and I couldn't think of much that could be a metaphor for. I enjoyed purple today though.

Apparently hawk and dove in economics are to do with monetary policy, in particular about whether they prioritise keeping inflation rates low or other policies.

Found blue first but played it last. Had yellow figured out more or less but didnt know which one to leave out. Then I saw 3 of purple and struggled for a whole to find the 4th. Finally they all fell into place.
Oh damn that's a good strategy. It always takes me ages to find homophone & sound connections.
Out of interest, I don't think I've seen you post Connections before, although you've been on ![email protected] a heap. Did you only see the post for the first time today? I wonder if that's because you may have bots disabled on your Lemmy account, so you can't see the bot that I normally use to make posting easier?

fwiw, having run with bots enabled for some time now, the number of annoying or spammy bots is miniscule. It's very easy to block the individual offending accounts (like that Reddit reposter account) rather than blocking bots wholesale.
Had to get a hint for blue and purple can go to hell.

Felt tough for me today. Wasn’t seeing anything after I’d found yellow.
Purple popped right out at me because "cache" looked like an oddball and I worked it out from there.
