Cringe rule

Did you also know Microsoft (Blizzard's parent company) also supplies AI used in the killing of innocent Palestinians?

The first pride was a zerg rush

Alt text: A post on X in which someone doesn't want to be involved in Pride Month because Overwatch is involved in Pride Month

Well, shoot. I'm still boycotting Blizzard because they banned a player from tournament play over voicing support for the Hong Kong protests. Now I need to boycott them for an entirely different humanitarian reason? Good thing they don't make good games anymore or I'd be kind of upset.

Broke: giving blizzard money
Woke: boycotting blizzard
Bespoke: playing overwatch without buying anything so they have to pay for more servers

Everyone thinks they invented griefing in video games. Then they grow up to be like 8 or 9 years old and realize they’re mostly wasting their own time.

I don't think their success depends on non-paying customers. Like yeah, you populate the servers but as long as there are a few hundred whales that can play against each other, they won't care. It's been apparent for a while now, look at how long the queue time is for top players, yet they still play it.

Oh and was it Respawn that had an interesting moment where they got mad at "freeloaders"? F2P games are very much at the mercy of monetization, aka paying customers (unless they're also selling your data which they probably are).

Woahke: pirating it and distributing it to all Overwatch players safely

Suproke: only watching the "fan content" and that's it.

Overwatch characters were famously made gay the same day bad news about Activision/Blizzard was released in order to drown out bad press.

Remember the California lawsuit? Yup, lifesaver released, and wups they're pansexual.

Agreed, this pride thing has gone too far. We are supposed to support Overwatch players? What's next? Will they want us to treat Fortnite players like they are human? There has to be a reasonable line drawn somewhere.

Seems weird someone supportive of pride month says they don't want to engage with it or be supportive because a corporation also knows June is pride month and marketing capitalizes on that.

I don't understand that, or maybe I'm misreading this post somehow?

Ah I guess I just am dumb my b. I thought it was serious for some reason.

Yeah the joke is meant to be lampooning that rightoid tendency to get pissy when brands support queer people. The rightoid would be mad that Overwatch was involved in Pride and drop Overwatch. OP inverted it, dropping Pride because they associate with Overwatch.

You reached the end
