People did know about the genocide in WWII. They were flying planes over the camps. But when the soldiers arrived and took pictures the world learned the horrifying details.
The difference is, we have the pictures now.
Yes. From my understanding, and sadly very close to what seems to happen today, most people chose to either ignore, downplay or justify those horrific events.

Why are you saying that is if it's contradictory? I know that Russia invaded Ukraine. I can see the horrifying details by watching drone videos. I can know something generally without knowing the details
They 100% knew about the Holocaust and as a Jewish person its extremely telling. Anyone who isnt actively calling out the genocide in Palestine is complicit.
Realistically I suspect what they'd actually say is just to deny that it ever happened, or worse, to claim that it was good or necessary or inevitable in some way.

The Swiss government knew as early as 1941. If we knew, the UK with their vastly better intelligence services definitely knew, and their allies probably too.

Yes
The UK had prime intelligence sent by Poland from operatives that went into the camps voluntairly and then escaped. The allies didn't care, they cared about the landgrab, not the genocide.

Funny to see how history is repeating itself in the US with "internal enemies" being deported to deathcamps outside the country. So much easier to downplay the horrors when the mass killing aren't happening within the country.

They also knew about it before the end of the war and the genocide of the Nazis was announced before it happened. Some attempts at damage control against the Nazi regime were maid such as conceding the Sudetenland and the Anschluss of Austria. They did try to stop the Nazis it in part, but appeasement did not work.
There is verified evidence of it.
Even a body count of 50,000 dead so far and millions of displaced starving people who don't have their homes any more. It's been reported, documented, photographed, on video, eye witness accounts, verified by journalists, academics and politicians.
We are all complicit at this point.
In 50 years, the world will blame all of us who are alive now for letting this happen.

Honestly, does it even matter what genocide deniers or people who recognize the genocide say? There's been a lot of discourse, international criminal court investigations, news coverage, protests about Gaza, yet European and American bourgeois governments kept sending billions to Israel and I highly doubt it's due to lack of evidence or that they "didn't know".
To capitalism, you and me are nothing more than pigs that are kept for their value and slaughtered on the altar of profit whenever the chance arises. Capitalism doesn't care whether there's a genocide happening or not. People care. It is a socialist duty to oppose the mass killing of humans as it is happening today.
Don't expect capitalists to solve your problems. Only people can bring about change.
Yeah, only the workers can bring about change, hopefully by liberating themselves. However, this only stands in theory.
In reality, Capitalism is a system actively maintained and defended by the bourgeoisie (the ruling/owning class) with their own geopolitical and business interests. This maintenance also entails legitimization of itself (through electorialism), instilling its own values through education and the media which encourages passivity, and it's also crafted in such a way where regular people have very little power to influence things (limits to whom get to be our representatives in democracy by barriers of entry, who gets to actually make decisions), with the best that can be reasonably done without proper revolutionary organization being protests (in other words, begging). This powerlessness was the point of my comment.
It also doesn't help that Capitalism/bourgeoisie benefits from armed conflicts like these, given how it propagates military industrial complex (profitable businesses), allows capitalists to get their grubby hands on war-torn regions when it comes to reconstruction/minerals post-war and allows to get rid of overproduction which Capitalism tends to produce over time. So, your remark that "Capitalism doesn't care if there's genocide or not" is kinda wrong, it actually thrives off of it which I'd assume makes it happy.
The meme isn't about spreading awareness, it's about denial. Denial would be the exact opposite of spreading awareness.
